This footprint chart session with Brannigan looks at two trading strategies in relation to the psychology of "paying for information". In poker this concept shows up when skilled players focus more on extracting information from other players at the table, more than how much they play the cards they were dealt.
This same principal shows up in trading when skilled traders "pay for information" from the market. As you engage with the market, entering and exiting trades, important information is gathered. Often experienced traders will talk about "feeling out" a market and are willing to take 5 small losers before applying leverage and hitting a bigger winner.
Brannigan illustrates this idea further with two examples of trading strategies. The first is of an Open Drive in the gold futures market on 23 October 2018, and the second is the Exhaustion Stops in the S&P 500 futures market on on 26 October 2018.
