Can confirm Wren is new to GMOD lol. The stuff he did is exactly what I did when I first played Gmod just F'd around with the Physics and trying things.
God I haven't played GMOD since around it's release. Videos like this make me think about reinstalling it and exploring it as someone with WAY more knowledge than 15 year old me.

But it also isn't that difficult. I think he had an issue with how to attach things and the other controls to create a normal vehicle, lol.
this was really dope. I remember like a decade ago in High School making a school project all in Gmod.
A friend and I did the same thing lol. We made a video about invasive species. It was like terminator themed and antlions were taking over the planet lmao

I did that in fifth grade a few years back lol, I can’t bring myself to watch the video because of my voice but I still got a 100 on it so that’s nice

These Garry's Mod videos are so good. They remind me of the best parts of Top Gear
That first race was laggy due to all those physics props. The second race was excellent, though the barriers could look nicer than cubes; Things like fences and concrete roadblocks would make a better looking track.

They shoud change it to No vSync and X16 Anisotropic
I mean the source engine is pretty outdated. Plus they all kind of suck at the game and have no idea how to build things lmao. If they actually welded their vehicles together correctly so they were solid objects and not giant tornadoes of physics objects slamming into each other (Like Wren especially) they wouldn't have so many frame rate problems. They're just terrorizing the physics engine with their terrible building skills.
@@bestieswithtesties I mean that's mostly correct, though the giant thwomps spread around the map, along with all the random object on the track certainly didn't help.

You guys should definitely play sledbuild. As suggested by the name, you have to build sleds, and then race them down a snow track.
Wren's couch car is like the one in Battlefield Hardline.
Sam's typical design philosophy of "bigger is better" really does work like 90% of the time

Flood is a gametype on the steam workshop that involves building ships to not sink and taking out other peoples boats to drown them. Grapple hooks and guns add to the madness.
Flying airboat battle!
You must use the airboat as a vehicle base, then attach breakable objects to act as the wings and protection. You then attach all thrusters, turrets, hoverballs, etc. to them so if the breakable objects are destroyed you lose some of your controls.
This video was worth wren nearly crashing a drone, to save a spider infested drone and go-pro for in order to shoot.

You should do infiltration where someone build a base in ten mins then every one else has to sneak inside and get to one singular point then the first person to make it to that point builds the next base and can no longer build another so the if he or she was there again just pick the second person and the base builder can use machine guns or other to further the bases protection but nothing crazy
Hey Yo so i saw this problem with the derby as well, you can not die in seats. some addons make it so you can but im fairly sure it only works with weapons. just for the heads up.
And you can probably find an addon to make all of the objects have health.
I love how they are 10+ years behind the Gmod fun, but can still give us a funny video to watch.

I wish all games used a map editor similar to Hammer Editor. Hammer is just so easy to use compared to something like Unity imo. I used to make custom Half-Life 2 mods all the time bc learning to use Hammer quickly and easy took less than a day.

Me and my friends did this exact thing years ago! It's so much fun! Another one you guys could do is battlebots. Split into teams of 2 and the last battlebot standing is the winner!
Gmod Drone Race/Obstacle Course? Build a small aircraft that can move on 3 dimensions and race/compete for fastest time. Through like some rings or something? Big tubes maybe?
An airship battle would be an excellent next one.

You guys should do Base VS Base. Spawn/build your army, cannons, and vehicles to defend your compound.

Niko, the props holding stuff must be heavier than the props that are held. Make your base prop the heaviest, then the turning props should be a little less heavy and the wheels can ve lighter. Base 1000, wheel axels 300, wheels 150-200.
You should build 2 bases on opposite sides of a small-ish map like construct and have a sniper-battle with only the crossbow. Scouting drones are allowed.

I recommend checking out Wiremod and Expression 3, those two will allow you to build way more advanced vehicles easier. Then you can make things like turning wheels which Niko tried to do, by wiring it up to do just that. It is a little more complicated, however the basics should be easy to learn. Wren would definitely like it, seeing as he's an engineer :)

Robot Wars - gmod edition! Build your own wireless controller for the bots and drive them from the sides.
You guys should do a hovercraft race or maybe like creating a movie scene and having the others guess what scene you are replicating!
IDEA:
My best friend and I used to take explosive barrels, and put them thrusters on them with different objects sometimes and turn them into rockets, dupe them, and shoot them at each other.
For example I used a soda machine and put a ton of explosive barrels on them to launch at him which was one of my better designs.
You can even get it to the point of making the most accurate thruster setup on a barrel as a rocket where I was able to hit my friend at the other end of the map.
Here some Tools and Tips:
- While you have your wielded creation selected with your beam, hold it and press R to release every part of it simultaneously
- For the Frame rate, use less physics objects like those unnecessary (but cool) hot dog ballz
- There are tool mods available like some allowing you to resize your creations or create actually tires
- additionally there are already some premade tracks available (Nat, you could add a bunch of traps and spice em up/ bigger maps make Gmod difficult)
- There is a tool called "Explosive" or something alike. This allows you to give your vehicle and HP rate and losing that HP will let it explode in a cool fashion
There is loads more but these alone could make videos like this here way funnier and also easier

How about the next race is a team race? Sam and Niko are the team captains and drivers. Dean and Wren are their pit crew/soldiers. Both teams design and race their vehicles and the pitcrew fix their car's position and fire rockets at the enemy team.

I've been part of servers that are dead ass serious about building things. Not just things that sit there but things that work and work great. I have a duplicator folder FULL of weird and cool shit I've made.
Helpful hints for next time fellas.
NoCollide tool and weight tool.
And there is a lot of content on the workshop in addon form for building.

Hi Node, just a tip for the wonkyness. The more welds you have, the more secure things will be. As far as wheels being wonky, the weight of the wheels vs the weight of the 'car' is how that is decided. Similar thing with thrusters - the weight of the thrusters is a multiplier to their force. There is a weight tool addon which allows you to adjust weights of specific props. Goodluck in the future!
I have idea: there is 2 teams, they has to build a base/bunker together then they take turns raiding/defending it. and there is a certain object that must be broken to win the raid
