I got their legacy cap toe, for just under $200(with discount code)I got a pair with midsole. Beautiful leather and craftsmanship. I asked them to do something about the screws and they moved them to the very edge of the heel, no issues whatsoever. They certainly are not the beefiest boots but they’re just so comfy, almost like a pair of sneakers! Also kudos to their CS, they accommodated almost all of my requests(screws and pull tabs removal)and never ghosted me.
Whatever the negatives, it's $235. That's only $35 more than Thursdays and arguably much better in quality. Great stuff Ryan. Your quickly becoming one of my favourite bootubers 😂
Hey Ryan, great video. I love your videos and am excited when I see a new one come up! I notice you've added background music, and it may just be me but I am not a fan. I personally prefer just hearing you speak without additional filler noise; I feel it distracts from your calm demeanor. Keep up the good work!
Thanks so much for the observation. Personally I agree with you completely. I only use it to cover up problems in the sound which will hopefully go away as I buy some equipment.
As with some Indonesian boots, the reinforcement insert in the heel counter doesn't go up to the stitches so it creates creases smaller than the counter itself which for me doesn't look good. Tongue should at least gusseted halfway --this makes the boots look cheap. The boots' look is perfect for a monkey boot --I really like it. Although, if I were to buy I'll take them to a shoe shop for some changes, such as: add a leather midsole and switch to half sole. I agree with you that these aren't work boots and it should be. They're office boots.
Any suggestions on the sizing of this boot? I'm usually a 9D in most boot brands (Allen Edmonds, Thursday Boots, Grant Stone, Helm) but sometimes 8.5E also works depending on the last. Thanks for the help.
The stitching and welt look really wonky on your pair of boots. I have a few LTT boots from Sagara, Jakkrabbits, Nicks, and Caswell, but non on a commando sole. When it comes time for a resole, I’d put on a pair of Dr. Sole’s.
@@AJ-by6pd Thanks for the reply. I'm not expecting them to ever use a high-arch last but I'm still tempted to get a pair of LTT or monkey boots and pop in a Nick's Delta Arch insole....
I might be wrong, but on some angles the light makes it look like the leather is starting to show some striations, since this is buffalo leather and not cow, I wonder if there's a chance this boot will have patterning like tumbled leather or worn in horsehide as you wear it more?
@@cheekibreeki9155 yeah there is definitely some horsehide “looking” honeycombing on some parts of the boots. Hopefully this gets more pronounced over time.

Great point and thanks so much!

The sooner the sole wears out, the sooner you can do a cool resole on it!
Good point

Love your reviews, keep it up.
Much appreciated!

Sounds like you should stay with 9D. Some comments have said this boot is based on a new last "Zeus" that is a wide "D" width.
looks great. the tongue should be gusseted at least a little bit, though. a good 2 inches at least.

@@AJ-by6pd good idea
How are you Jakkrabbits fitting and wearing?
Love them. They are in Black Shinki Horse Rump with a Dr. Sole.

I got a pair of nicks LTT in pacific waxed flesh on order.
How is your foot?
Do you get blisters often?
Horrible blisters I got from this pair
No blisters yet from this boot. I get blisters when I break in thick leather heals counters like those in PNW boot but these are no problem.

is the welt plastic?
@@jshankfam it’s leather
Most of the time I just cut off the pull tabs on my boots
