As an Ecuadorian, I'm happy to know you love our chocolate! And you haven't tried others as Tango, Manicero and Pacari. This last one is organic chocolate which last year (2014) won 14 awards in the International Chocolate Awards held in the UK. This was the third time this brand receives international recognition. So far, Pacari has received 79 awards since 2012. Visit their website and you will see the extense variety of chocolates they have! Proudly Ecuadorian chocolate!
Love the fact that you love the Ecuadorian treats cause no one knows about Ecuador and it's a shame cause the candy is amazing (I'm Ecuadorian so I obviously love this video) 🇪🇨
Arianne S. ikr I'm from Ecuador aswell and the chocolate is the best😍It's a small country compared to the others in South America so that's why no one really knows about it🇪🇨
Hi Barry!, here is Adriana to thank you for the lovely video, its great you liked the treats i've sent to you, our chocolate is THE BEST i told you, hope one of them is reaching the #1 of your favorite candy list. ;) PD: sorry to my fellow citizens who thought the treats were very few, i know i know, there's so much love and chocolate to share here. ill do better next time. Hahaha GO ECUADOR!
Barry- your videos are fun! Glad I found your channel. My wife and I just came back from a 3 month trip to Ecuador, so really enjoyed this video especially. Ecuador does have amazing chocolate!
Proud ecuadorian here! I'm glad you enjoyed our treats (now I'm missing my country, but anyways) You should visit Ecuaador and try not only the sweets and treats but also some food, cause let me tel you, IT'S DELICIOUS! and you wont regret it.
best chocolate ever! 😄.. missed manicris, tangos, turroncito, chocobanana, amor cookies. la universal = the universal. thanks to taste a little bit from our diverse country! 😊
We Americans don't call taffy and toffee the same thing because they aren't. Taffy is a chewy stretchy often but not always fruity candy. Toffee is like what is in a skor or Heath bar it's hard n buttery delicious.
You were cracking me up in this video. I'm not sure what's up with people flinging penguins in the sea but I appreciate that it's a tradition that both Ecuadorians and Americans share. Also, I'm slightly confused now about what other countries call toffee and taffy. In America toffee is a coffee/caramel candy that is either a hard candy or extremely tough and chewy/sticky while taffy is usually a soft and gooey candy that comes in a million flavors. Taffy makers actually 'pull' and 'stretch' the candy. It is pretty neat to watch.
I remember in primary school when we had those Christmas party's and stuff, the thing which would tell you whether it was a good party or not was whether someone made marshmallows covered in chocolate on the top with a smartie for decoration, good times
Very late to the party, but I really do appreciate this. Though I live in the States, I’m Ecuadorian, no surprise there. Most of these Treats make up a good portion of my pantry. Guayaquil is where I usually go to visit family and there’s a local mall with a supermarket. It’s a paradise. Some things you can get in the US, but there are other things that can only be found in Ecuadorian markets. Btw, I’ve seen all of Barshens and Ashens, so I’m a big fan and have now started watching your content. It’s very different from Barshens but in a good way. I like the family friendly vibe here. Don’t tell Stuart, you’ll always be my favorite, Barry.
Cómo no ha probado los TANGOS!!!!!!!!! No me lo puedo creer, si es lo mejor de lo mejor de los dulces ecuatorianos!!! I can't believe Barry doesn't taste Tangos, it's absolutely the best of the best among ecuadorian candy!!
lol Taffy and toffee (for the most part) are two completely different confections. Taffy is soft and chewy and is made by boiling sugar until it gets thick and then it gets pulled on a "taffy puller" until it forms a glossy, smooth appearance , toffee is hard caramalized sugar either in a block, sheet or crumbs, kinda like peanut brittle without the peanuts.
Toffee in many countries is different to American toffee. Like in Australia have soft and hard toffees they are the same ingredients but are cooked to different heats to get the different textures and they can be any flavors. American candy apples are called toffee apples in many countries including Australia and they are covered in the hard toffee. Then Taffy is different again but I don't know much about that as its pretty rare were I live and I have never tried to make it myself.
Hahaha love this video. I've only been watching you a few months but it seems like your videos are just getting better and better. So glad I clicked on the youtube advert to your page!
I am half Ecuadorian and have had most of this stuff. Amazing. Huevitos are my favorite out of all. First ever video I watched from you and immediately subscribed. Keep doing what ur doing man, cuz u r hilarious.
More reviewers/chefs should be like you. I'm going to repeat some of the things already said here, but you're so very authentic (not in a TOO creepy way) and you always make me laugh. Thanks for being so awesome! Could you and Dr. Ashen do more sand-witch (get it?) and tin challenges.
i am Ecuadorian and me and my mom watched and we thought we have never seen someone who is not from Ecuador love our candy that much! LOL BTW new subscriber right here me
Barry you are one of my favorite foodies to watch on RUclips! You're always so funny and fun to watch! I'm from the USA and I love watching UK RUclipsrs, I love these videos and your giant videos as well. I'm going to be trying out a lot of your recipes (especially the dessert ones) very soon and I can't wait to see more! When is the next giant video coming?
Little bit pate, but you can get marshmallows covered in dark chocolate in Denmark in every supermarket, and there is some with white chocolate in some stores.
I need to watch these earlier in the day they make me want to eat food. Barry I have watched all your videos on trying food and loved them all my favourite one was the Swiss candy one because I've tried some of the sweets you ate! I LOVE YOUR VIDEOS!!!
Hope to see some Taiwanese, Chinese, and Vietnamese treats soon. You've got so much energy, it's so intoxicating. I can feel it all the way in Southern California. Stay cool.
Hhahahaha Barry you're my man!!! I read the video description and INSTANTLY, the song "Ecuador" popped into my mind!!! I was so amazed when you actually played the song on your phone :D
I was looking some material to teach my British boyfriend about Ecuador and I found this video. You are pretty funny but I might suggest if you do another video of Ecuador or well just another country, try to find the traditional treats. Ecuador has so many of them! We have melcocha, dulce de guayaba, turrón, etc.
My Virgin Kitchen, we call it El Universal and it's NOT from the USA it's a Ecuadorian company in Guayaquil. My Grandfather lived across the street from the company. Boy the smells were fantastic. :) Love your videos. The guy singing Ecuador isn't from Ecuador, he just came up with that song (sort of song) when he visited and fell in love with the country. I think he stayed and is from EUR.
Im ecuadorian, loved the video, most treats are delicious. ManiCHo actually is pronounced ash in naCHos, because the "CH" in spanish sounds diferent, and is not maniac is because "mani" is peanut, an ingredient for the chocolate.
Hi barry im only a child but i love cooking and i just wanted to say your such a big insperaton and chloe and phobe are so so lucky to have you. From Lilly. D:-)
Absolutely great video. I just love every video because you are so entertaining and all that stuff is sooo good looking and delicious :) Greetings from germany
Hi Barry, Greetings from Ecuador... your video was funny as always... and no, Bambolina is not a expression we use for excitement hahaha... I think it's just the name of it... Manichos and so many products you tested are from a local company which name was so funny to hear from you "LA Universal"... it's most like "The Universal" but nothing related with Hollywood... anyway, it was so hilarious... I'm glad Adriana sent you those lovely treats, but I think she missed some that are extraordinary like Organic Chocolate Pacari and handycraft sweets from our Highland... Great videos!!!
Taffy and Toffee are two different things to me. I always think of salt-water taffy and a Heath bar for toffee. One is soft and chewy and the other is not. Are they more similar in the UK?
Nommy nommy! Well if the Ecuadorian's can't get chocolate right then there is something definitely wrong with the world, lol. Ohhhh everything looks scrumptious. That wee cow doo daa at the end looked amazing, lol. Lee :)
hahahahaha im from ecuador and it make me remember how the people reconoize us with that song lol >.< but for us is like omg no way lmao and the way u are eating the candies and dancing hahahah so funny lmao

Hi Barry!, here is Adriana to thank you for the lovely video, its great you liked the treats i've sent to you, our chocolate is THE BEST i told you, hope one of them is reaching the #1 of your favorite candy list. ;)

Adriana Ulloa te faltaron los chifles y las galletas amor
Lol I'm Ecuadorian and I have never seen half of these chocolates 😂 Qué pasó con los Tangos, galleta Amor etc 🤔
Jaelene Arteaga exacto 😂 tangos are life 😍
Faltaron los platanitos :c
Barry- your videos are fun! Glad I found your channel. My wife and I just came back from a 3 month trip to Ecuador, so really enjoyed this video especially. Ecuador does have amazing chocolate!
thanks Josh
*The best chocolate
@Heysel Blood I refer to the commodity. After processing yea, British or Swiss are the best
Proud ecuadorian here! I'm glad you enjoyed our treats (now I'm missing my country, but anyways)

la universal = the universal.
thanks to taste a little bit from our diverse country! 😊
Oh yeah MANICRIS!!!
Manicho :^)
Toffee in the US is hard and crunchy, as you know from tasting that SKOR bar. Taffy is soft.
We Americans don't call taffy and toffee the same thing because they aren't. Taffy is a chewy stretchy often but not always fruity candy. Toffee is like what is in a skor or Heath bar it's hard n buttery delicious.
You should try gourmet Ecuadorian Chocolat, like Pacari or cacaoyere.
Ecuadorian chocolate is the best in the whole world!!! Thank you for sharing our tastes to the world! :)
Nanzii Noboa yea ecuador for life am i right

i am Ecuadorian and me and my mom watched and we thought we have never seen someone who is not from Ecuador love our candy that much! LOL BTW new subscriber right here me
Taffy candy isn't really the same as toffee, its more like penny chews (?) in the UK as it doesnt taste of caramel I think
in the USA, we have a candy bar called rocky road. it is chocolate covered Marshmallow with cashews.
Barry you are one of my favorite foodies to watch on RUclips! You're always so funny and fun to watch!
