Hey there, just saw this video now, nice work! To add on top of the decisions of why it has been denied after being allowed, we discovered that the fire rate was based on how fast the game is running. Someone running the game at 90 FPS will never be able to shoot as fast as someone who runs it at 250 FPS, which, even in the PC community, would make some records impossible to reach due to hardware limitations. Another issue with macros, is the fact you would allow external programs to modify your gameplay, and would open the pandora box. Obviously, it was a huge drama back in days and some people still don't agree, as a lot of the voting was poorly made. I guess now most competitive players are educated on the topic, which made most of them decide it shouldn't be allowed.
Another example of this happining is in Quake 1, Half Life 1, Half Life 2, Team Fortress Classic, Counter Strike Source, Team Fortress 2 etc which players map the Jump key to the Scroll Wheel which allows players to Bunny Hopping around the map more easily and faster than if the Jump key was on Space
I remember hearing about this ONCE, and then never again. I’m also pretty sure there were seperate we categories when using the ray gun glitch since it isn’t really a hack, but I don’t remember
I might be wrong but I believe the trick for fast raygun was already known about for a very long time at least since Black Ops 2, specifically by trickshotters. It was a common trickshotting thing that I remember seeing a ton of back in the day and back then it was pretty much just controller/console players. Regardless, this trick is very well doable on controller.
Also a tiny extra tidbit doing it fast is called infinite fade but in the trickshotting community people would often do the reload halfway then swap weapons twice for a more stylish sniper animation this was the first rendition before infinite fade was found @@Drrpy
i may be wrong but isnt that completely different? when you do that one i seem to remember that the shot doesnt actually register, the ammo counter doesnt go down and it doesnt show up in the killcam/theater mode
This is exactly the channel I’ve been looking for! Love finding new content on zombies. This channel is the equivalent to Karl Jobst or Tomatoanus but for the zombies community instead of speedrunning.
World records as a whole are pretty corrupt in terms of who can even attempt them nowadays. PC basically has a monopoly on a majority of the WRs, you're basically being forced to play with KB+M on PC to be competitive & having things like fast restart means more attempts. Like there are certain records where PC/console or at least controller/KB+M should really be split into 2 different boards. There are WRs like bank speedruns on BO2 victis maps that are not split by input type but KB+M can spam withdrawal points while it takes longer to do on controller giving them a clear advantage.
Awesomesaucefilms with their co-op splitscreen is what I remember for Call of the Dead. Crazy how they became big minecraft youtubers after abandoning that channel.
Commenting before i watch, the pure joy i get from the notey that my favorite ducky 🐤 posted i hope you realize the joy it brings me. Love the quotes at the end and love the way you commentate. I myself dont think its viable for WRs but maybe if theres a seperate category for where its aloud that could be fine.
I feel like it should be allowed in high rounds for the reason you said, you basically have to be playing on pc anyway so it shouldn't matter if consoles can't do it. However, I don't think it should be allowed in anything else (I think) because there's not much else limited by console.
I’ve been an advocate for fastray since forever! Why not extend all the world records? Doesn’t use any outside programs. Literally just needs rebinding controls
Thos glitch was known way before 2020, I knew of it since the early days of zombies but I decided not to tell anyone and do it as it was going to be a huge glitch peolle would use to get higher rounds, then broadcast then expect money for it. Why would that make speedrunning die out?? The fun of speedrunning is getting a better time than your last. The fun of watching a speedrun is seeing a human pushing a game to its limits and perfecting their skill of the game. No one cares if a computer can beat a game lol
@@unstookie nobody cares if its a human doing it tho. if you just saw the gameplay it would look awesome. but youd just play that shit in the background like a youtube video because it would become that novelty. whens the last time you watched somebody do a liquid divinium opening? never cuz you can use mxt to give yourself all the gums you could ever want. once something becomes accessible to everybody, it slowly loses its spotlight and people chase the next thing that isnt figured out yet.
@@personanongrata47 that is the bleakest and most inhuman take I have ever seen. That's the same as saying "once AI gets smart enough to hold a conversation, no one will have the need for friends anymore" People literally love watching humans do things well. Why do you think people still watch chess games, when two computers could play for the rest of time. People enjoy human emotion and skill and seeing the euphoria of someone win. There is literally nothing interesting about watching a computer solve something quickly. If you think human skill and capability and talent is only worth its "novelty" then I think you might have a serious lack of empathy and compassion.

You can do this on console too with a special modded controller. It was called a jitter mod iirc.
