Thanks for your thoughts. Most of the newer pliers out there that have a bolt or nut turning section have it in a "v-shaped" or roughly parallelogram shape rather than the old curved/oval shape. These have the older curved/oval shape design there, and I wonder why. Are the curved/oval jaws better for anything than the v-shape? (Anybody?)

I too was disappointed in how they were shipped when I got mine…
    Thanks for your video!

Infamous means well known for a bad quality reason or action. I think you probably mean just famous or well known.
Nice pliars, I am looking forward to getting some. Thanks for posting your video. The 7" pair here in Australia are $138 and the 9" are $152. That's bananas but I think I will buy a pair anyway. I'm curious to see if there's anything to the hype. I doubt I'll ever buy another Snapon tool. Knipex are much more reasonably priced here but it will be interesting to give these a go.

I think the infamous part is the high tool truck prices not any bad quality. That’s the only rift I see from people. Some mechanics will defend them to the end while others would never spend that kind of money. To each his own, spend your money how you please.

I do apartment maintenance these are amazing you’ll grab these over most other pliers but the only thing is the cutter is not the greatest I would say that’s for solid wire anything else you won’t get a clean one time cut but for pulling plugs and wire terminals and water connections they are amazing my go to pair I have the 47’s

Yeah, their shipping protocol is asinine. Lots of room for improvement for sure.

I just go ahead and get $250 and get the free shipping. It is what it is I guess

I suppose on one hand, it's not difficult to spend $250 on snap-on tools. I just didn't need/want anything else at the time.
