Agreed, but I understand the passion often does not move from one generation to another. My two boys have zero interest in this stuff. I just took delivery of a really old wood fibre scaled ERN pocket knife that you will hopefully like.
Interesting to learn about ERN. Thanks for that information. I believe the “R” on the tools indicates they are rostfrie. I also see tools stamped with an “S” occasionally indicating they are stainless.
I have one made by Wusthof, Solingen Germany they stop production of pocket knives in the 70s. It has Buffalo Horn scales 4-layers 8 tools nickel silver liners and pins Stainless Steel blades. Mine has three exposed pins showing and looks lightly used.
Someone loved and carried this knife for many years. What a shame it didn't stay in the family.
