Makes me have a new appreciation of the extra attention to safety and internal parts quality on a simple adapter. This is so Apple. People love to hate on them but they have always been pretty solid on safety and using good quality parts, good to see even the relatively inexpensive 20w adapters have good internals too.
My charger has fallen a couple of times , still in excellent condition,do you think a the charger can be damaged by drops ?????, I kinda need to know it because I have dropped it a couple of times and Iam a bit scared now tbh

Interesting, I got a 20W charger with my iPad Pro (2020 model), but it looks different from the outside, the edge is much more rounded compared to the one in the video. Mine is a model with a European (Schuko) plug, though.
Interesting. I recently bought a ChargerLAB POWER-Z KT002 to test my chargers. My Apple 18W charger also does not support Apple 2.4. When I tried charging an iPhone 6 (which I think does NOT support PD) it still charged above 5 watts, I think it was around 8 watts. I wonder which protocol it's using?
Interesting question. Apple 2.4A protocol. Even if the charger does not support apple 2.4A, it can also be used for handshake through the protocol provided by the cable.
@@ChargerLAB Interesting! So the cable acts as a "translator" between the old phone and the new charger? So I guess it doesn't matter that the charger doesn't support Apple 2.4A natively.
Hello! I bought the charger like 2-3 months ago and now it stopped working, not charging at all, thought on what it could be? Normally when it charges/ is connected to the outlet it makes little noises like hissing, but now silence.

Are you guys getting fake apple chargers? I've never had an issue with an iphone charger ever. I briefly replaced my apple chargers with Anker but the charger got so hot I smelled a burning smell and stopped using it. Back to my trusty apple charger 👍🏾
How is Apple's charger much larger as compared to others from relatively minor companies like Aukey, which are reliable too and my 20w aukey is not even Gan based, also if a controller chip is Gan based, how does that make for a much smaller charger, as rest of the components are the same size?
It only has one down side. The plug only fits in US 110V and Chinese 220V all-fits-all-sockets. There is another charger for round 4mm pins, 19 mm apart for Europa and Asia. Likewise for UK/India and another for Australia. With the old charger, the plug was simply changed.
Most of Asia uses all-fits-all-sockets, actually. I lived in Japan for 10 years, and they use it. Worked in Thailand and the Philippines, and they also use it. Visited Korea, and they use it. I would guarantee others do, too. It seems like Europe is the biggest non-user, which is unfortunate, as the all-fits-all is smaller and easier to plug in than other bulkier styles. That's my thoughts, at least.
@@jcsjapanJapan uses the Type A (USA) standard, however in South Korea they use the Type F (German) round standard. In China they use Type A and Type I (Australia). In other Asian countries you may see a hybrid of both the round Type C and flat Type A or B.

The possible reason is that Apple 20W has more space than Aukey to dissipate heat.
