His lawyers and family said that he was NOT depressed or in "that" state of mind. My analysis is that the order to delete him was actually given after his second day of depositions, because that's when Boeing figured out that allowing him in front of a live jury would have been *CATASTROPHICALLY* damning (I'm talking potentially tens to HUNDREDS of BILLIONS IN civil/criminal fines and civil liabilities, and prison sentences for the senior leadership).

As someone whose life and family was destroyed by a giant corporation, I want to thank you for this effort. It left me in tears. Such support is entirely too rare. I know, personally, that far too many people are more inclined to disbelieve such cases because to do so would undermine their sense of safety and security and justice. They would far rather believe that people such as John, myself, and countless others, are conspiracy nuts, crazy, or suicidal than to confront a world of murderous corporations, corrupt unions, and evil governments. So here is a warning, if you do stand on your feet rather than live life on your knees, expect everyone, even your nearest and dearest, to try to pull you back down into their muddy utopia.

Personally I don’t believe in coincidences of this kind/magnitude…my understanding is that all this man’s evidence will be stricken from the proceedings as he ‘took his own life’ BEFORE. he had finished giving evidence and could not be cross examined. Bit too convenient if you ask me…we’re supposed to believe he couldn’t keep it together for one more day!!! 🤔

I really dont understand how this is even real like who the hell thinks of "how to protect" these guys... for real US. WPP having you stay in a Holiday Inn as their witness protection plan is like getting chickens to sleep in the middle of the woods and expecting them to be alive the day after... Sheer madness i would never ever put my life in these guys hands very unreliable

Excellent storytelling, production and more. Your "storytelling" though is based on the checksum of facts and circumstantial thought. Thanks for your sensitivity. When Boeing has billions of dollars at risk, based on just perhaps, what they cannot cover-up or SPIN, by all means one noble man will not get in their way. Think of everyone riding on that roller-coaster called Boeing. Great excerpt from No Country for Old Men. Poignant! Thank you. Godspeed to you too...

JOHN "MITCH" BARNETT was one of the greatest human beings living on earth at this time , he was better known and loved by the name MITCH BARNETTE .
He loved his job , family and friends , i guess you could say , he loved people in general no matter what color or race or whatever , loved and enjoyed his hobby racing cars , in the racing world he was known as "SWAMPY" !!!
He was living in Pineville , Louisiana not payville ,LA as stated in this video !
and he was found in his orange colored dodge pick up truck , not the pumpkin orange dodge SUV as described here !
I personally find it very hard to believe "he did that thing "to himself !!!
I feel so bad for his MAMA , step dad ,all his family and friends as he will be missed by all .!!!
RIP my dear friend , MITCH BARNETT !!!

When i saw this on the aviation news, i put 2+2 together because i recognized him from the documentary on Netflix “Downfall: The Case Against Boeing” and i mediately figured that Mr. Barnett would not commit suicide because his former employer was committing despicable deeds. A whistleblower wouldnt just give up and kill them self because things werent going their way. However he could have died because things WERE going his way. Downfall should make another episode going over these last few years and possibly into the future until Calhoun is gone and a couple years after to see if the new CEO fixes the issues or compounds them like Calhoun did to Mullenberg.
Boeing is absolutely despicable right now. No shame in what they’re doing to themselves and seem to have no inclination of changing what they’re doing to better them self. However, as bad as Boeing’s PR is, i feel as if this should be a catalyst for a sweeping investigation in the airline industry. Investigate every singly manufacturer making airplanes sold to the public. Whether it be general aviation, business/private jets or commercial airliners, i’d like to see each and every one of them investigated to see if/what they are getting away with since Boeing is being shoved into the spotlight. Could reveal a lot about the aviation industry and who we trust our lives with once we step onto that plane and sit down.
Rest in peace John Barnett, you will be missed by everyone.

I doubt that boeing would have directly or indirectly hired guys for the job.
No sane corporation will kill someone during a lawsuit especially a lawsuit of this magnitude.
That being said, it's possible that a Boeing worker might have been involved, it's also possible that it has nothing to do with Boeing.
But i highly doubt a man like that will commit suicide.

Thanks for doing this video and for your respect for whistleblowers! In every job I've ever had except for two, I was either pushed out or fired for pointing out safety issues and even figuring out a way that they could be mitigated that not only made the job safer, but also cheaper and quicker. I have never got into a single job looking for safety violations and I have never actually wanted to find them, especially once I had had a few problems with getting pushed out of my job so I didn't point out every little nitpicky thing but only ones that could and likely have gotten someone killed. In one case, where I worked in emergency medicine, I know that they did get people killed. I am not aware personally of whether the other things I blew the whistle about got people killed or not but, if it hasn't happened yet, it will because the only thing standing between those practices and someone's death is sheer luck.
Every time I would see a safety issue that was likely to get someone killed, my heart would sink because I knew that meant I would be losing that job because the only thing companies care about is money. The moment they can get away from dealing with human beings, they will do exactly that and the CEOs play Russian roulette and hope that they won't be the ones holding the bag when all the safety issues they ignore result in someone's death. You could blame it on the CEOs and they are certainly to blame but they are only front men for the deeper cause of all of these problems, which I think the Bible ironically stated rather clearly: The love of money is the root of all evil. The problem is capitalism, plain and simple. Whenever money becomes more valued than people and people are defined by their job and their human worth judged by how much money they make, usually mostly for someone else, you will see human lives abused and ultimately sacrificed for money. There's really no way to regulate industry out of this either. The only thing that will stop the unnecessary deaths due to greed will to create an entirely new system where lives are valued more than money is, which will require overthrowing capitalism as we know it and radically changing the social norms. As hard as this obviously is, it must be done or we'll continue to see this kind of bullshit happening over and over again and getting worse as the years pass. If you think that keeping your mouth shut will save you, think again.
Anyway, I found serious life-threatening safety issues in multiple industries where I've worked from construction to the school system to the medical system, most worryingly, the emergency medical system. I went back and got an education in hopes of being able to get to a place where I would be the boss when it came to medicine but I was shut out entirely despite graduated at the top of my class in biology and scoring a 30 on the MCAT (ask anyone who knows and you'll know how high that score is). The last job where I had blown the whistle before going to school full-time was a medical job. Now I'm so much luckier than most people in that, when all of my hopes for a career where completely closed to me, my mom at least owns her house and it looks like that will be the only place where I'll be able to have a roof over my head until the day I die because I've been completely shut out of everything.
Now, knowing everything I know about whistleblowing and how it leads to my currently situation, would I do it again? Would I do it again even if I didn't have a mom who owns a house and knew I would end up on the streets and also having been on the streets as well? Yes, I would. The reason is because I do give a damn about people's lives and if something that will cost many people their lives changes, even if I have to sacrifice my own life, I'll say something. There are lots of things that I might see that are technically crimes where I won't say a damn word and I won't recall, but when it's going to get people killed only, I speak up. And I'm the only one I know personally from any of the places where I've worked who had the gonads to speak up and the fact that I was the only just puts more onus on me to speak up because I basically know that no one else will. Whistleblowers speak up because no one else will and it's the right thing to do and, honestly, most of us pay with our lives in some way. One thing I know is that I can sleep at night.

Please keep an eye on developments there, the coroners office and the police department et cetera and let us know.
My two cents :- I don’t know enough about this guy to make a judgement, but what I do know is, however it happened and why, it will certainly discourage other people from whistleblowing and that’s not a good thing for the public, but it is good for Boeing and people of that ilk.
