- I believe this is the world record for v1.1 of Ao Oni, but I'm not sure. There's no official leader-board for this version, and I haven't been able to find any other runs, so I guess it wins by default?

Good work! I doubt you could get much lower than that so I would say you've won.
There's definitely still a few seconds to shave, but I don't think the time can be improved much more than that... unless new strats are found, then I have no idea.
I genuinely miss this game, like when pewds played, it was my absolute favourite series

This is actually the oldest version! There are four different versions, and the one I played before was version 6.23.

Changed speedruns would just be everybody messing up the water section
At least in a Changed speedrun, it's ok to reload a save, since the current world record also loads saves.

I'm not exactly sure what's going on there either. I think the oni can only kill you on adjacent tiles, and since it spawns on the same tile as you, it doesn't kill you... I think.

No, I still love the games! I don't think they're perfect by any means, but they've been able to keep my interest for years, something that most games can't do.
