I heard of him in early 70s when I was in secondary school. There was conference organized in kissi Kenya and was eager to attend but lacked money to attend from Uganda. Deliverance church in Uganda inspired and lay a foundation of my faith in the Lord. May the Lord raise more of Joe Kayos of today church age
Bishop, you are so right about Joe's gifts and the revolutionary introduction of musical instruments into the church. It's in the sixties when he stormed our local church, Itibo PAG in Kitutu Chache North, Kisii County, playing guitar and conducting loud evening prayer sessions. I was a primary school young boy and we were really attracted to him. But lo ! the Pastor then, the late Abner Mwebi ,and other church elders literally outlawed him. That's when he moved to Nairobi to start Deliverance Church. A very gifted man indeed. RIP JOE....
Joe Kayo was so beloved by Kikuyus among nairobi as he preached in Kariokor market in the 70s... 😢😢Most kikuyus thought he was their tribesman. My mum had converted from catholic to pentecoastal. My father was not happy saying now u will be hoodwinked by those followers of Joe Kayo. I later came to know him personally. He was a humble man despite being a general in the faith...a pioneer in worship the LORD n doing DELIVERANCE. MAN OF GOD you have earned your rest.....😢 Dr. Bishop Wilson Mamboleo is also a general of faith in Kenya
Thank you for the truthful testimony and description of the life of Joe Kayo. He did a great impact in our country Zimbabwe. That time in the early 80s after our independence mas a great moment of establishing true Pentecostal and Charismatic worship! Thank you! Joe Kayo was phenomenal!
Joe Kayos church at Karioko was the first pentecostal church I attended while I was at college at Kenya Science teacher college and I was introduced to this service by a fellow student, I never missed the service athough most of the days we were forced to stand coz we found the hall packed. May spiritual journey started then up to date.
He really was a great man from the Mighty God. He impacted me while was in a high School by a message; "Jesus, the Kingdom of God!" I haven't forgotten in so many years!
I personally celebrate the life well lived for apostle Joe kayo, I will never forget the first day we meet in Kissii your home 1996 door to door mission, Son Preach this Gospel of Jesus
These are the pioneers who brought the world in the church ,after this the church feel up to today where by sin is now accepted and holiness is a foreign world
