    Thank you Ayla. I have some ENTJ 8 relatives & friends. They are exactly as you described them. once one of them spent days without leaving the house just playing video games & watching videos. They are always active regardless of where or what they are doing. as an INTJ, i share much opinions with the. as a not very introverted INTJ, i wondered if i could be ENTJ but the huge difference in many of these traits you mentioned makes me clear INTJ. when i used to play video games with an ENTJ, he used to be impulsive & eager to win while i am the one who strategized and planned well. Great video.

      Guess it's right; LoL showed me this 'eager-to-win' feeling that I didn't noticed often.
      Most people play games to feel entertained and 'alive'. To me, it's all about the winning prize or win effect that occurs in my mind.
      On LoL your main goal is to destroy everything till the core of the enemy 'spawnpoint'; Most people enjoy the strategies around destroying tower, fighting PvPs and mostly keeping up with the game... As an ENTJ my only goal at any match is to accomplish the objective, so instead of focusing on the game around the objective I focus on the objective around the game (My mind wasnt focusing on what to do now, but what to do to then accomplish the objective).
      This same effect occured on 'fortnite' alike games, most people enjoy fighting PvPs, they tend to focus on the game around the objective, the things happening instead of the objective; While myself were always focusing on 'what do I have to do to achieve this and that?'.
      This psyche is quite common on many other things in my life but it's only through games that it clearly reveals itself (goal oriented is one of the definitions of ENTJ, mainly because of how we tend to get things done).

    I'm an extrovert with a lot of introverted traits and hobbies. But the way I know I'm an extrovert is I don't have as much energy in the gym if there's not a lot of people. When it's busy I'm very strong. It also depends who's around me, if there's not a lot of people but friends are around I have a lot more energy.

    If we take a look at extraversion through the definition (facets) of big five. They usually have high assertiveness and activity level. But not much of friendliness, gregariousness, excitement-seeking, and cheerfulness. That's why they look like introverts often times. Take Thomas Shelby as a example. He does not display stereotypical extrovert behavior, yet he is an ENTJ.

I can also be aloof after mixing with people. I hate shopping in crowded places. I love parties 🥳. I'm extremely independent and struggle to identify my needs but good at taking care of others. I have problems with identifying my feelings but learned through therapy.

    I've recently been swinging between ENFJ and ENTJ, but after a while towards now, I've gotten ENTJ three times in a row. I decided to click on this because I've been mistaken for an introvert because I went quiet for a couple years two years ago (I'm not like that now).
    For Facet 1, I don't hate connections at all. Connecting actually happens to be one of my aims, yet I achieve that WHILE I keep control of myself along with slight skepticism so I don't feel hurt if I'm betrayed. We want what the world has to offer, right? So I'd search around for the right people for fun or if I can't get it myself.
    For Facet 2, crowds/parties are fine, indeed. The only way they'll ever suck is if you get lost or lose your things, but other than that, they're pretty easy to navigate.
    For Facet 3, kinda wish this was accurate, but I'm tryna make it that way. I'm assertive enough, but just for staying alive. The only thing keeping me from it is how often I second guess myself.
    For Facets 4 & 5, I'd say this is correct. I like when stuff happens, especially if I can get something cool out of it. I don't find it super hard to navigate an eventful schedule, partially due to naturally having energy along with prior planning. Challenges are pretty exciting if I know what I'm doing and am up for the risk. Even during leisure time when I AM in bed, I will still be doing or thinking about something. If I'm reading a book, it's gotta have action/drama for me to be interested. I didn't think so in the first place, but I realized the traveling part is surprisingly somewhat true after I remembered the time I scaled a cliff, the views were amazing despite the heat.
    For Facet 6, I am/try to be optimistic and am naturally sometimes enthusiastic. I generally act like I'm more pleased than I really am. I would cheer someone on with like "you've got this!", yet also tell them what they should've done so they can improve.
    You can be very powerful when you're self reliant enough, and I know 'cause I relate. YOU could be able to GENERATE your own energy without needing it quiet or loud. You can just think of something to do, and pretty soon, it will be done. Of course I'd ask for help when I need it, but even when I get the help, with the power of my self reliance, I'll be able to remember it and apply it. Being self reliant can make you very controlled in what you do.

      I'm glad you like the video! 3's can be introverts, though it's less common than extroverted 3's. A more introverted 3 might be less into being out there networking and more into grinding away on projects/work on their own -- two different ways of achieving success, but both with the same underlying motivation. And, similarly to 8's, a 3 can rate highly on some facets of extraversion and lower on others. Thanks for enriching the discussion here! 🤗

    Excellent video! Totally agree! The only little bit of info I'd add is in Facet 1 where you say we'd be less interested in people and more interested in external world due to being focused on goals + objectives. That is true except when we identify people that may be aligned to our goals and objectives or people that can assist us in achieving them. Example, stick me at a party and I am very bored because the party is meaningless. Stick me in a business networking event filled with potential investors and other business founders then i'm so excited to know them because they fit in with my journey to build my business. So I would love to talk to other entrepreneurs all day about their businesses but random people at the party are fairly pointless. So people can be an interest but its all about are these people that align to my goals and objectives. Thank you for making ENTJ content!

    I got INTJ on every single test I found so far (and there were quite a number of them). Not blindly trusting tests, I started studying cognitive functions.
    I relate a lot to the INTJ, but something about being Ni dom always seemed off. Ni isn't something I do all day - I always felt it was Te that drives me.
    But being socially (very) introverted, needing a lot of alone time and preferring to work alone, I thought it was impossible that I'm an extrovert.
    Ruling out being an Si dom (ISTJ), I started looking more into ESTJ and ENTJ, trying to find out whether these types could look introverted. Turns out they can 😄
    Now that I know I can make sense of some of my traits that didn't fit with INTJ. Like taking charge and leading stuff (when I'm interested - if I don't care about a thing I don't even want to be involved, let alone have any responsibility). Or always being the first to give an opinion when there's an awkward silence in a group. (The motto is 'You had your chance to speak your mind - now I'll tell you how we're gonna do it. If you don't like it, you're welcome to present a better idea, but be aware that I'll instantly check it for flaws and call them out.")
    So yeah, your video checks out for me, an (very likely) actual ENTJ 👍
    The only thing that isn't me: sensory overwhelm is a thing, I would score low on "seeking excitement"... I'd rather read a book 😉

    There is another layer to this as it relates to interactions with people. The terms extraversion and introversion, as they were originally intended for the use in this personality analysis by Dr. Jung, did not mean in relation to sociability or preference in interaction with people, gatherings, etcetera. Rather, the terms denote an individual's mental focus; i.e do they focus their thoughts and projects on actual alterations of the outside world, or are they focussing their thoughts internally? This is perhaps an oversimplification, however I hope it simplifies the concept.
    An ENTJ could, hypothetically, have utter disdain for all people and everything social, yet through their focus on external actualities still satisfy the requirements of 'E' over 'I'. Many personality tests available online test for the difference between 'E' and 'I' though questions relating solely to desire and enjoyment of social interaction, thus providing a narrow concept of the two which of course makes such tests inaccurate as they fail to account for the other characteristics that define the two; especially what I believe to be the major defining factor of focus direction. In this way, though we *NTJ's (I's and E's combined) constitute a very small segment of the population, within our substrata there could be considerable overlap where I's and E's have been miscategorised respectively as a result of inaccurate testing.
    This information has been sourced from the Meyers Briggs Foundation.

    • @TrueYouSystems
      @TrueYouSystems  5 месяцев назад +1

      Very good points! I agree that many tests for MBTI (as well as the Enneagram) provide inaccurate results that contribute to mistyping. These tests can also be misleading when they give results without factoring in the percentages of each trait. For example, test result that says ENTJ where the respondent was only 51 % E may not have as much in common with other ENTJs and instead share more traits with INTJs. Thank you for adding more depth to the conversation! 🤗

    It was a great video and I loved how to the point it was. Just a question - when I took an MBTI test, it says I am an ENTJ but my traits match with ENFP a lot. Why is that? Is there any possible explanation?

    • @dillondelgado2059
      @dillondelgado2059 3 месяца назад

      We share all of the same functions as an ESFP, so we exhibit those traits when we're in situations that allow us to let go a bit more than say at work where we take control. However we're highly intuitive and adaptable when the situation calls for it, and Se child can really adore spontaneity. Also we have double observers in the middle, and Te might as well be considered a third observer in many ways, all of that can lead to feeling like we're a dominant Observer type like an INTJ (Post Malone) or an ENFP (Robin Williams), which given the aforementioned almost triple observer status, can be misleading, especially given the constant identity crisis Fi causes when lodged in that fourth spot. Both ENFP and INTJ types are more intuitively aware of who they are to themselves, at least in comparison to an ENTJ...
      Or you could be an ENFP, in which case I am probably already in love and perpetually frustrated by you 🫠
      Hope this helps!

      Great question and great points here! I would add that many people have at least one of the four pairs close to the 50% mark, and if this is the case for you on T/F and/or P/J, that could also partly explain identifying with aspects of ENFP. Also, our Enneagram type can also really influence ho our MBTI traits present -- I've got a whole video about how the two systems intersect, specially for ENFPs: ruclips.net/video/YxgeHbt_56U/видео.htmlsi=5N-KeBoiqXyDybym ...and other typs as well, including ENTJ: ruclips.net/p/PLvu3Mso64sssRDPwcAAkdnntJK8k50K1Q Thanks for sharing, I'm loving the discussion here! 🤗

    ENTJ-A, and I think enneagram 3, which is weird and I am not too sure why, as I totally resonate - and have always even said it aloud - with the fact codependency is a big no-no, and the low on cheerfulness and warmth with ok/maybe on gregariousness. Not sure about 3 because I feel 8. People tell me I am introverted - lol but I can understand why - and then hallucinate when I am in a crowd, unbothered. I do have a very high tolerance to fear, and am usually rather ready to face whatever comes my way. What are the ENTJs 3 then?

    • @TrueYouSystems
      @TrueYouSystems  2 месяца назад

      Interesting! There is a lot of commonality -- and also some key differences -- between ENTJ 8s and ENTJ 3s. You might like to check out my video all about that, if you haven't already: ruclips.net/video/v_yO3ynxFIU/видео.htmlsi=GXRYBeQC-yRVM0QY. And there are ENTJ 3s who can also seem like introverts, or who can lean more towards introversion. But what makes them a 3 is the underlying motivation to be seen as successful and to achieve goals that will be recognized and admired, and that can look different for different 3s depending on the context, their social circle, etc. I hope this is helpful! Thank you for sharing these great examples! 🤗

      Great question! For each type, there will be facets within Introversion/Extraversion that they will tend to score higher or lower on, and there will be a fair amount of variation between individuals as well. So, for example, an Enneagram 5 INTJ could score low on Gregariousness but high on Cheerfulness. I'd be curious to know which Enneagram type you relate to! Me as ENTP have low score in Extraversion's Big 5, my activity is very low, my socializing is also low, friendliness is a bit better than my gregariousness... but I got high score in assertiveness and excitement seeking lol
    I also relate to not wanting to be vulnurable part by seizing people before letting them getting close to me. It takes a lot of time for me to befriend with people, but I don't really mind handling the crowd or leading social gathering with a lot of people and such

      Interesting! Many people say the Big Five is more accurate than the MBTI in measuring introversion and extroversion (and I tend to agree) so you may actually lean towards introversion in that case. I recall you mentioning you identify with 5w4 / 5-4-8, and INTP would be a classic MBTI type for that. That said, 5's can score E on the MBTI or Big Five, though when they do it's usually close to the E/I middle. You might be interested in looking at instinct stacking and subtypes if you haven't already delved into that! This video, which really applies to 5s in general and not just INTJ 5s, might be a good place to start: ruclips.net/video/0WuE-Meyh1s/видео.htmlsi=tjoJD5S1vx2HNeQz Thank you for bringing your thoughts and experiences to the conversation here! 🤗

      Great question! It's possible you are close to the middle on S and N, so both types of are reasonably comfortable for you, and this would explain getting different results when taking it different times. For E(*)TJs, the are often focused on getting things done, and if they lean more towards S, that focus will be more on the details of what they are getting done, while for those who lean more towards N, the focus will be more on the big picture goals and how they connect with overarching themes and ideas. Thanks for the great question! 🤗

      @TrueYouSystems  Месяц назад

      Great question! There is no pairing of MBTI type or Enneagram types that shouldn't be done, or that always works -- it depends on the individuals. That said, there are more or less common pairings, and INTP with ENTJ is one that you definitely see! What the MBTI and Enneagram can do is predict aspects of a relationship, like which will be some of the points of conflict, or things that will be easy and comfortable. Thanks so much for the great question! 🤗

    This video is extremely flawed. The introversion/extroversion in MBTI is not the same as the concept of introversion/extroversion in Big 5.
    Carl Jung defined an introvert as a person who observes the outside world and forms a personal impression of what he is seeing. Whereas an extrovert is somebody who does not internalize the perceived information and simply absorbs it for what it is. So in MBTI, the term "introvert" is used to define a subjective individual, and "extrovert" is used to refer to an objective individual.
    An ENTJ is an extrovert because he is an objective logical thinker. ENTJ takes objective facts from the outside world and makes his decisions accordingly. He uses facts, figures, stats, and sources to judge reality, he does not internalize them. He does not care what he personally feels towards them.
    So an ENTJ can definitely be a social introvert because MBTI's extroversion has nothing to do with sociability.
    All of this is true if you use the version of MBTI that uses cognitive functions. If you are using just the dichotomies version of MBTI, then this video is counterproductive because it exposes how limiting the theory of MBTI is at defining introversion/extroversion.

    • @TrueYouSystems

      Interesting points, I appreciate you laying them out! I agree with you that this video doesn't go into the different aspects of MBTI, it's history and origins and how those differences greatly contribute to how the system can be used in different ways. And you make some great points about the limitations of MBTI -- I go into similar ideas in this video: ruclips.net/video/K_efTVWeaoM/видео.htmlsi=p-JEqz-0sbmUNfn0 I'd love to hear your thoughts on it! For this ENTJ video, however, I really wanted to focus on diving deep into using other systems like Big Five and the Enneagram to find greater understanding. These systems are each limited and lacking a full picture of what makes us who we are, as they only focus on certain aspects of personality, so I find layering them helpful. And, as you say, using the Big Five's analysis of extroversion lines up nicely with elements of the cog functions version of MBTI. Thanks so much for adding to the discussion! 🤗

    • @TrueYouSystems
      @TrueYouSystems  5 месяцев назад

      Good points! I'm glad you brought this up. It was so hard to decide whether to include going into other common ENTJ enneagram types like 3 and 1! For this video I chose to really focus specifically on enneagram 8 because this particular trait -- being in some ways less of an extrovert despite scoring E on the MBTI -- is most common among 8's in my experience. A lot of this video might apply to ENTJ 1's; 3's tend to be more extroverted in general, so probably less so (though introverted or semi-introverted 3's do exist). My MBTI x Enneagram playlist has some other things you might find interesting, including more about 1's (in my INTJ vid) and 3's (in my other ENTJ vid):
      ruclips.net/p/PLvu3Mso64sssRDPwcAAkdnntJK8k50K1Q
      I also kept the focus more narrow for this video because there is so much interesting stuff to talk about when we widen the scope that it would be way too long! 😅 Similarly I don't go into socionics in this video, but it is very interesting! There's so many great systems and angles that help to describe and understand the human condition, I wish I could cover them all! When I do a live stream sometime we can geek out on all that 😊Thanks so much for broadening the conversation and adding more depth! 🤗

    • @TrueYouSystems
      @TrueYouSystems  5 месяцев назад +1

      Great point! I think the "true you" really comes in when we can break free from our automatic habits of mind and behavior and activate the different aspects of ourselves we aren't even aware of! I find these different systems helpful tools for doing this. They almost act as a mirror we can look into to be more aware of our patterns in order to then grow from them. The first step is recognizing these patterns and mbti can be a great place to start. The enneagram can then help with recognizing what motivates and drive these behaviors. Once we do that we can learn to be truly the best version of ourselves no longer tied to automatic patterns of behavior 😊 thanks for adding to the conversation! 🤗

    there are no ENTJ e8 types, what are you talking about? are you saying you can identify with whatever you want? e8 wants instant gratification and is not sophisticated when it comes to manners, there is a lot of other stuff but I think you need to read naranjo and spread some ACTUAL information. this is full of errors from big 5, to enneagrams, all of it.

    • @TrueYouSystems
      @TrueYouSystems  5 месяцев назад +2

      I'm glad you're pointing this out! Good question about MBTI and identifying with different Enneagram types. The MBTI and the Enneagram measure different aspects of personality and so can in some cases overlap in perhaps unexpected ways. So it's not that any possible combination of MBTI and Enneagram will happen, or happen at the same rate in the population, but that there are higher likelihoods for certain MBTI and Enneagram types to overlap, and lower in others. ENTJ 8 is one of those overlaps that tends to happen along with ESTJ, ENTP, ESTP. Then, slightly less likely but still seen are ENFJ and ESFJ. (And of course these MBTI types can also be other Enneagram types besides 8). For example, 8s have a lower likelihood of being an INTJ, but it can happen in some cases. Each of these different MBTI types influence variation on how the patterns of Enneagram 8 will manifest externally while the internal motivation of 8 remains the same over different MBTI types.
      As you know, the MBTI and Enneagram are both highly complex systems designed to more deeply understand people, not simply by categorizing narrowly defined and stereotyped traits, but by creating a framework for being able to grasp nuance and to help understand what makes us individuals and highly unique! 😊 I appreciate you sharing your perspective here and helping us look into these systems more deeply! Thanks for adding to the conversation! 🤗
