- Fabian made it back home with his Land Rover Discovery from a long trip down to Africa. We checked out his car to address a misterious coolant leak and found a serious oil leak.

Well done Christian and Vera great content, I have a idea send the rebuilt engine to Australia and the community will find you a doner body and then you can go on all the big outback adventures with a decent engine, older discos with sad engines are fairly easy to find, just a idea for you . What a great Sunday video full of entertaining content.... I'm a bit late watching it because I'm looking for a new car! Christian do you remember seeing my A5 not so long ago ? Well the 7 S Tronic gearbox failed last Sunday and the repair costs were way beyond what I paid for the car ..... It's gone to Poli land or Rumania to be repaired and sold on...😂

I have the new Discovery (facelifted, so what you would have seen in the showroom) and it's a lovely thing... would give the Queen a run for her money and a huge improvement over the initial D5's I think. Land Rover's best kept secret in the current range.
You need to check your torque spanner, on the passenger side blank of plate you set the one nut to clonk clonk and the other nut to click click. Just saying!. Another great video.

Sherlock Holmes hat on today, glad to see the Queen fixed and well done Landrover again. I was picked up on saying that last week, but my brand new Triumph bike doesn't get the same backup in spite of emails and calls... and a lot of other automotive companies dodge their responsibilities regarding warranty and backup but Landrover always seem to be the one to get knocked... Enjoyed the video immensely though, and those blanks for the pipes were a work of art!

Always liked Disco 3 and 4, never had balls to bite the bullet. Was in a market for a older 4x4 after selling Terrano 2 for rust issues....ended up with Rexton gen2, 2.7 Mercedes mated to a 5g tronic automatic, Borg warner TC. Zero leaks, zero mechanical problems and quite capable.

I think that Land Rover's procedure for designing a new vehicle includes a mandatory refresher course on Where's Wally for all their engineers. Probably because they want to make things "interesting" for a certain pair of lovely Germans...

Sunday morning staple, thank you. I had Mercedes e class diesel oil cooler leak (The oil cooler is in the middle of the V so it takes a couple of days to change but as soon as I changed the PCV valve, it stopped. The crank case was over-pressured.
I suspect the Knuckle repair from LR will be perfect and to the book, they will know about this channel and would be on their best behaviour (you would hope)😮

So...Vera wants a new truck cause the queen is back....and you will be happy to know that I GOT A OEM READER. Yeah I got from ebay...and also I have bought a remote start with push button start and cellphone start so ,on those cold moments when I get up I can just start my truck with my phone.....and I cleared all faults only 1 came back from the dealership NOT KNOWING HOW TO PROPERLY FILL THE TRANSMISSION. So now I'll have to do everything thing over including watching your videos for the correct adaptations
I must mention the big elephant in the living room.. what a huge pile of junk these car are! It's border line usable. And only in city owning garage.
(ps. I live in Iceland and it's mostly tough condition all year around. I own 1993 Toyota LandCruiser 80 diesel, tripple locket 35" tires and around 300k km on odo. The only repairs for past 20 years is brake calibers, change of brake lines rear. I will change timing belt this winter and fix some leaking in steering machine, that's all)
I think you’re not going to like all the old episodes, or any future episodes, LR time is how to fix shit and get a laugh at the same time.
I have a 1999 LC 95 with 230K km and only things I've replaced are brakes, both lower ball joints as a precaution and an inner track rod ball joint. I do timing belt every few years as it's only £30 and 20 minutes work

I assume that Land Rover offered you a "curtesy car" most drivers would have accepted one (even one with better spec). Why didn't you take one? Not knowing your family tree. Is Fabian your son? As per normal I enjoyed the content. Thank you.
Oh No you gave the EGR bolts different torques! The first got ‘clunk clunk’ the second ‘click click’ surely that’s wrong on so many levels?
Great when an unnecessary part causes problems, I hate egr's, no fire needs dirty air.
How many km on Fabiens D4? In the old days (1970's) the aviation forma gasket is all we had. The silicon stuff had not been invented. I still use the aviation gasket stuff all the time on my vintage car (1929) because its possible to easily get components apart again unlike the silicon sealant where its a real battle. I will need to check for oil in the V of my engine now you have pointed that out.

👍🙏Schreibfehler sind nicht so dramatisch für uns. Jeden Sonntag morgen gehen nochmal 4 Stunden Arbeit, zu den 10-15 fürs Editieren, drauf. Das bedeuted auch das wir um 5:30 aufstehen Sonntags morgens. Da müssen wir schon mal schon einen Tippfehler in kauf nehmen.🫣😅🙋♀️

I have the same or at least a similar Chinese "Coolant Pressure Testing-Kit".
Typically, these screw-on adapters are not completely tight themselves and thus cause a pressure loss themselves ... 😤
