Browns fan: i would have gladly watched Flacco for 1-2 years while we figure out the long term qb picture. Indy - hope he lights it up for you, he seemed to have played well so far in ‘24
Richardson needs to fix his mechanics, he needs to learn to see the field. and I don't knowhow you fix mechanics while trying to win games. you're wasting the prime of many players on your roster. let him sit, let him learn, absorb, practice with the second team, maybe get a qb whisperer in the building, maybe Peyton Manning? idk, but Flacco is the right call here.
Practice I believe very important, with his injury last yr he didn't get to practice. It's not I'm game situations he needs to learn it's fundamentals, ball placement, velocity vs speed vs distance. The basics. I mean people gotta learn to crawl before they walk and ain't noone taught him to crawl yet. Gotta start there.
There are QBs that developed on the bench. Aaron Rogers sitting behind Farve for years comes to mind. Not every young QB is ready to start, and that's ok.
and in AR's defense, he is very young. Young men in their early 20s are rarely the beacon of maturity. So he can be cut some slack to a degree, especially if this humbles him a bit.
Question for everyone. Don't know why....granted it was before my time. But for me Anthony Richardson gives me Akili Smith vibes. Does anybody else get the same feeling to ?
Anthony Richardson was lucky that Bryce and Will Levis were stealing spotlight fot their bad play. Now that both were out of multiple games the spotlight and scrutiny finally came back to him
In any team, whether in sports, military, work, whatever, you look to your leaders to set the tone, to lead by example. So when a supposed "leader" asks to be benched for rest, and appears unwilling to sacrifice everything for his teammates, it sends a terrible message to the team. If that leader is NOT punished by his superiors, the rest of the team loses respect for the franchise. It had to be done, for several reasons.
I got tired from reading and typing this statement, and after that, I took a nap. Hopefully, you don't exhaust yourself because you may become tired from doing so......😂
I'm proud our organization stood on business and let AR take his criticism and consequence how are you tired when you missed all of last season and you already missed three games this season and it wasn't even in the fourth quarter of the game😂😂😂 I WOULDN'T HAVE BENCHED HIM PERSONALLY BUT I CAN UNDERSTAND WHY THEY DID IT
I thought we would have waited until later in the season if his struggles continued and the playoffs were kind of not an option but I can understand the accountability here
Honestly I always felt like when the Colts drafted him, it was going to be a short term experiment. If he exploded on the scene, great. If not then just move on, it didn't work.
Exactly and i know ballard gets hammered over qbs but hes also built a good roster that can win even with bad qb play. The jones pick jn 7th round and not trading for sneed is what makes me know ballard knows what hes doing. Guaranteed irsay and him have had a conversation about how great it would be to get another manning in the building. Im just saying
@ZachLikesSnacks how u figure? Paid mostly drafted guys, a dropped ball away from the play offs with a back up last year, 4-4 right now those 4 loses all 1 score winnable games, and now they make change so i guess we gonna see huh?
For the QB to say...Yeah, I need a break I'm tired. I can guarantee that there isn't a VET or Rookie in that locker room thinking. "oh yeah...All Good Bro". C'mon Rich
They should let him play. Best case scenario - he actually develops. Worst case scenario - he sucks really bad and helps the colts get a high draft pick.
The colts as a team is to good to take that chance if they had just average QB play with JT and their Defense finally healthy they actually got a good overall team.
Letting Gardner Minshew walk was a bad idea. He knew our system and would have been a solid GM while AR rested, recovered, and developed from the bench. However, i know the owner wanted his top pick playing asap. Colts are going to struggle if they keep changing qbs.
Anthony Richardson is the poster boy for the combine. Terrible passing sats in college, and suddenly he's a top five pick because he's built like a linebacker and is "possibly the best QB athelete ever".
AR is a soft spoken Happy Gilmore. Can't sink the put. Can AR have a Happy type turnaround? He has to earn it now. It's not a given any longer. He either focuses and competes or he will be a bust. It's completely up to AR. Is he the tap out guy, or the one who shuts up the haters....
Honestly, Richardson strikes me as the guy you stash on the bench for three seasons to develop behind a veteran. The Jordan Love situation. Right now Richardson is AWFUL. Obviously an incredible athlete but that doesn't translate into immediate NFL success. I have no doubt that his tap out pissed off a lot of other veterans on the team and that played into the benching.
Richardson was very bad against phins. If not for Boyle he loses last week. Then he has a chance to win a big game and take division lead, chokes, throws a pick, and says he was tired. I dont think comment is why but the cherry on top
What he doesn't give them is a long-term answer at QB. They are just kicking the can down the road, if Richardson isn't the answer, play him, be bad and draft his replacement with the high pick you get from being bad. This waffle crap is going to hurt them in the long run.
bad decision by the colts. But you already know how this is gonna play out, don't you? Flacco's gonna get hurt, and richardson will be back in. mark my word
you cant be serious LOL. Dude was arguably the worst qb to ever grace the field. Every game was just getting worse and worse and hes injured all the time. Fact of the matter is hes just a crazy athlete and a terrible qb
@Paralyzedable worst QB to ever grace the field? Bit of hyperbole. He's bad, he's immature, he's underdeveloped. But worst QB ever? Did we forget about Tim Couch, Ryan Lindley, Nathan Peterman, Ryan Leaf, Dan Orvlosky, RG3, Charlie Whitehurst etc.?
If all 8 of those passes hit, he would have been 18 for 32, which is a 56% completion rate, which is what he has been all his life. He's a great athlete who has never been a great QB, and asking him to turn into one at this level is just too late
Because we benched AR we should logically follow by benching shane from play calling indefinitely, the LBs for not doing what we know they can and olinemen for mistakes and the other staff and coaches that are faultering as well as recievers for dropping balls.. which also lead to costing you games... And bench flacco for subpar play as a Superbowl champion mvp QB who hasnt played fully to that era. I say give Bean a shot then go back if needed.
i have a question... what if he was genuinely tired... and if he plays, he has poor performance as a result of it. does that change things? players fake injuries all the time because they are tired.
He was 100% genuinely tired, but so was everyone else on the team. The QB can't leave the game unless he's hurt. There's too much riding on it. There's a reason QBs are some of the highest paid athletes in the world
Just a reminder. Flacco has just as many rings and way less diva-ness than Aaron Rodgers. I’ll take steady Joe anytime.
Only has one ring
@@edwardlamar3650 right. Both of them have one SB ring.

Flacco in 2024 3.5 games 65comp% 7tds 1int 102.2QBR which is #1 in NFL
I genuinely believe Joe Flacco is cementing a fringe hall of fame run. He’s kicking it old school, and no defense can stop him
He brings the ability to throw the football
*accurately
Look at all of those close games the colts should have a nice record... Smh

He’s the same guy he was in college. There was a reason he wasn’t starting. He also was always hurt in college.
As a Vikings fan….Rich had my exact reaction when I saw the notification Flacco would be starting 😂
Shane all about perseverance and resiliency AR tapping def put a seal on it
There are QBs that developed on the bench. Aaron Rogers sitting behind Farve for years comes to mind. Not every young QB is ready to start, and that's ok.
The QB needs to develop in a lot of ways...maturity being one of them.

That's a good comparison.

Reality - bad skills can be coached, bad judgement is often permanent. ARs tap out is poor situational awareness which equates to very poor judgement

Depends how Flacco plays. If he plays like he did in Cleveland, they're gonna roll with him. If he plays sub par, AR will start again at some point
We’ve already seen him in Indy and it’s been good.
That string of games destroy AR,worse than the bench.

AR needs a brain 🧠 transplant, then he'll be ok

Should of benched him at halftime only throwing 85 yds to that receiving core is ridiculous. With a top rb is definitely a no brainer.

richardson threw 8 excellent passes that hit receivers in the hands , the receivers suck ,
that is not his fxing fault .!
