- We sold our whole herd except for one goat when we were selling our house, her name is Good Intentions (Goodie). Goodie is a fullblood dappled boer goat and she's gorgeous. We felt bad with only having her out in the pasture, so we bought a fullblood buck to keep her company. Well, it's about 5 and a half months later and here are their TWINS! A little boy and a little girl, we are still working on names.
Of course the man says..... just let her do it. Lol. Only a mom knows how much it hurts, good job helping her get the baby out. I'm sure mama was grateful too lol
aww congratz! sorry to hear about the loss of the previous birth. but super happy to know this one worked out perfectly. They are gorgeous set of kids. i love the markings and colors of both them and their momma. good thing you both kept an eye on her, that was a huge one she needed help with as she literally screamed as the first one was on its way out. ouch!!! probably next time be lesser hands on so she isn't as nervous around her babies. but totally understandable why this time was a bit more important for human intervention. CHEERS
Thank you! Yeah we don’t like to intervene but we’re just being cautious with this one. They’re growing up nicely!
Shes not hurting the babies when she uses her foot on them..she's pulling them closer to her because she dosnt want anyone near them. Cows do the same thing.
I will definitely keep that in mind next time. This is the first time she’s successfully kidded so we’re just being extra careful. She had a stillborn last time so we weren’t sure how she was going to react this time.
She is beautiful and so are babies! She wasn’t trying to stand on them. She needed them to move so she could move around. Cage was to small.
5x5 is a pretty standard size goat cage. This is our 5th kidding season so far and that’s the first time any of them have done that. We had 40 last year.

Just watched another video where had 5 babies they were really small
5 is crazy! We had one that had 4 last year but one was stillborn.
