Loved the haul and the excitement in your voice. Gretchen you truly put yourself in the time period and think of everything. The glass cake plates are fabulous!❤
I just love all the dear miniatures that you ordered. The best is the tea set! I have two tiny tea sets for my doll house sized castle. One I made out of FIMO, and one that I got for Christmas ten years ago, which is made of china. Aren't miniatures great? I just love making them, and finding them in Michael's! Cheers! ~Janet in Canada
Oh wow! You made a tea set from FIMO! that is incredible! I used to make dishes from clay when i was a girl so I know how tedious it can be. Yes miniatures have been a life long amusement for me. As an adult I always buy my dishes. I'm glad you like the Blue set ,Thank you so much! I got it from Minimum World, an online store with very reasonable prices, if you like Michael's you'll LOVE Minimum World! always enjoy your comments!
My father, born in the 20's, had a cheval to put his clothes on. It was a wooden stand, with a shape like a wooden hanger at the top, to hang his suit coat on, and a little tray below that for the contents of his pockets, wallet, loose change, watch, cuff links. There was a wooden horizontal bar to put his slacks over , and at the base a few wooden dowel rods going horizontal to set his shoes on. He would lay out his clothes the night before, I think you could put a dress shirt under the jacket, and there was probably a place for his tie. After work he'd put the suit back on there to keep it from wrinkling and let it air out, put the shirt in the laundry. I wish I had taken it when he passed. I tried to buy one for my husband and nobody in the stores knew what I was talking about. I can't remember what the sides were shaped like or made of. At the top there was something like a finial on a lamp, where the head would be above the collar, maybe just a wooden knob. I was so upset when he died I couldn't think
WOW! That would have been cool to own a piece like that in life-size! I actually just saw one in miniature on last night miniature Haul on Whitney Labrie's channel. It was really well made. It really stood out because it was such a rare piece! Thank you for sharing about your dad. It's memories like that, that fuel my projects.
@@littlegretchensworkshop7665 I just loved it as a little girl, because it was almost like my dad's clothes, but he wasn't in there, like a scarecrow or something. I tried to look it up last night and only found those cheval mirrors. I'm pretty sure it was called a cheval. I wonder if my sister kept it? Too bad she moved to another state. She won't even give me my half of his ashes, from 2015. He would not be pleased. I see no reason a woman couldn't use it. I'll have to check Whitney's video again, must have missed that item. I used to love sitting and watching my dad shave in the morning, the smell of his aftershave. Every girls first love should be her daddy.
