The term "Comeback" always confused me too. In English, it is only used for when the person coming back is unexpected and then they succeed. Like a sports team who comes from behind in points and wins the game or a fading artist that had not released anything in a while coming back with a hit song . I learned that the term "comeback" is VERY literal in Korean and is used whenever the person or group simply comes back no matter how short the time period or if that group is actually succeeding.
