I love the way TLC keeps their steps in synch, but they're loose with allowing each one to dance them in their own style. You could just go back to the same videos three times and watch them individually for the whole video; a different member each time. You get to enjoy each ones take on the steps. It's almost like watching 3 different girls do the same dance in a club. Love TLC!
I have to say that people rarely talk about Tboz as a dancer, but I have to give her kudos too. Love this group.

I was born the year that Lisa died, so I didn’t have the possibility to meet her and listen TLC live, but I have heard rap songs of that age and I love them but Lisa truly made a difference as you say ❤️❤️

So I thought "If TLC can sing about women standing up for themselves, I as a fifteen year old gay kid engaged to a twenty-six year old grown man in the basement of his brother's house because I didn't have anywhere else to go, I could actually leave my Scrub/Abuser behind". That fifteen year old kid was me. I was 19 when I finally left him. That's why I left him. Not because of money. Because of safety. Does that answer your question?

the thing I disagree with is that this song is about "women standing up for themselves".
She's just stereotyping men who aren't as well off as herself and reinforcing attitudes that a man's worth has to do with how much money he has. If you interpreted this song in a way which meant it helped you get out of an abusive situation that's great, but I don't get how this song is related to abuse in any way.

Not true. It's just that around this time there were tons of in-studio shows like this that only allowed lip sync'd performances.....especially in Europe with shows like Top of the Pops. They were just promo performances in different markets.
This wasn't the idea for the video.
This was done over seas for promo. They have shows like this. Beyonce did this with CIL on POPWORLD in front of a white backdrop, green, black and white skirt with 4 dancers. Check it out. This set isn't uncommon at all.

It's amazing these three young women dressed like tomboys yet their energy and presence exude more sex appeal than many female singers who went nearly frontal nude. The way they move, self expression, lyric and rhythm are in their own class. The music went effortlessly from soft (Chilli), to rap (Lisa), to electric( Lisa), sassy jazzy(TBoz). You just can't replace.

so I guess people are complaining about the outfits particularly about the pants. I was 14 when FanMail came out..I can definitely tell u. this was the style back then. this was hot. for most of us growing up in 1999. the year 2000 was such a big deal. besides TLC and their futuristic FanMail theme in the album artwork. plus the no scrubs video. it was the common theme to be futuristic at that time in pop music. much like how it was in 2011 and 2012 to be obsessed with the whole end of the world theme in pop music at the time.
