I'm very confidant that the blurred creature in background of the temple photo is the Okeanos's Guardian from Blue World. I even compared it to the side profile of the in-game album and the outline practically looks 1:1. If it is, I'm wondering what it's doing here and not in the Cavern of the Gods, and would that mean other main story legends from previous games might return, like the Singing Dragon and, most importantly, the Ancient Mother? I really want Ancient Mother to return since she also appeared in Blue World. Honestly, a small part of me initially thought that we'd get a small chance of returning to areas from previous games. I threw that thought out the window, but it'd be so cool to see places like the White Room and Valka Castle redone for the switch. I'm really hoping this game does well so Nintendo might feel incentivized to remaster the 1st and 2nd game.
Oh I would love to see the Ancient Mother in this game! I feel like it’s just such a classic part of the EO games, with having the Singing Mother also in Dive Discover Dream. Also I’ve been hearing a lot about the Okeanos’s Guardian and it sounds like we most likely will be seeing him show up👀 Thank you for the comment!✨
Ohh tbf I think your right. When I 1st read this, I thought you meant the one at the bottom which Mandy zoomed in at said it could be a turtle. But looking just above that, it 100% looks like the okeanos guardian. It even had the jaggy edged fins! How exciting!
It definitely is, the updated page on the Nintendo store website shows that picture in the background of an info section, and you can clearly see it in greater resolution.
I remember so much about the game used to scare me from the first and second game. The ghost ship I was like WAY too scared to approach, the sudden curse messages that would appear when you find certain artifacts and the creepy dark abyss. The second game with the sharks able to attack ya and swimming in the bottom of the abyss, the killer crocodiles, the whirlpools and not to mention the scary pressure of entering the Cavern of the gods with the whole time limit of getting out of it before it collapse, my god! All that used to give me nightmares! I mean I loved the game but lots of parts gave me the jitters. 😆
Literally everything you mentioned freaked me out as a child😆 it is so funny, I always thought I was alone in my fear of this game LOL but it seems like we were all scared of it as kids! Still had (and have) so much love for it though💙 When I got that curse in DDD, I remember I stopped playing the game for so long until a friend told me “you know that’s just for a new hairstyle, right?”😂✨
From analyzing the map seen at multiple points in the trailer, we can see that there are multiple identical structures placed throughout it in different places, as well as certain features that appear at one point of the map in one dive, and not in another, like shipwrecks. So, my theory is that the Veiled Sea will in fact have rogue-like map generation to some extent, with many preset chunks of map that randomly come together to form the map each dive. This would explain seeing the same feature multiple times: it's the exact same terrain, but placed in different spots on the map (you can see with the coral arch mentioned in another comment here, it has different coral placement each time we see it). We still have no idea whether there'll be multiple maps, but my hope is that it'll be similar to EO1, where we have a main stage, and multiple sub-stages you can enter from there. Regarding the temple area, it looks awesome! Turning up the contrast reveals that the blurred creature in the bg is 100% Okeanos's Guardian, and the creature to his right could be a liopleurodon taken from the game Sakana Connection, a defunct Japan-only mobile fishing game, also developed by Arika. They look pretty much identical, and it's already been confirmed that multiple of the creature models seen in promotional material, such as anomalocaris, great whites, and the gnarled great white in the trailer, are all also models taken from Sakana Connection. Interesting note about that gnarled great white: his name in Sakana Connection was Thanatos! Probably just named as an homage to Endless Ocean 2's Thanatos, not the same shark, but still interesting! (Thanks to my friends on the Endless Ocean Wiki Discord for coming together to do all this detective work!)
Wow thank you so much for all this information! You’ve been doing the detective work for all of us🫡 that is sooo awesome that we’ll see Okeanos’s Guardian, I can’t wait! Thank you for the great comment🥰🌊✨

I think the creature in the temple photo is the mosasaur. This being the shape of it with the long pectoral fins and tail. This also being in green coloured water like it was in the trailer showcase.
I think that creature in the bottom left of the last photo is definitely some sort of pliosaur, maybe Liopleurodon! It's faced away from the camera and you can see it's longer skull in the gloom plus its large flippers. It also looks like it has a black and white color palate which is a very common depiction of Liopleurodon courtesy of Walking With Dinosaurs. I've been holding onto hope that my favorite marine reptile might be in this game, so seeing this screenshot in your video for the first time made me so happy - thanks for making this, can't wait to finally get my hands on this game!
Yes!! These are awesome theories, I can’t wait to see what prehistoric and extinct creatures are included in the game because I’ve been hearing everybody’s dream creatures they want to see in the game. I’m hoping everybody gets to see their favorites!✨ Aww, thanks so much for watching💙 I absolutely love sharing the Luminous content I find so connecting with all of you is such a blessing to me!🥰
I think only having one map, as big as it ends up being, would be a stepback. Not to mention the freshwater area. Are they just gonna mix a weird freshwater biome in the whole sea for no reason? That would make no sense and would feel really out of place. Is the whole sea gonna turn into a whole lake at times? That would be cool, but what if you wish to revisit the lake and the rng just refuses to spawn it? It could be very weird unless they execute it very well, otherwise I expect a freshwater map apart from the Veiled sea, just like I expect a whole ancient dedicated map. Ciceros Strait felt really big in EO2, with lots to see and lots to discover, and yet the game had like 5 other whole maps. The Veiled Sea seems to achieve the biggest map yet in the series, but I'm not convinced it's gonna be the only map in the game.
Yeah, I would be a little disappointed if we had 500+ creatures all in the same biome! That would take away the realism and accuracy that the other games focused on so much. I’ll enjoy checking out the game with whatever the real answer is but just my thoughts! I definitely agree with you though, it would be really strange🤔 Thanks so much for the comment!🌊✨
Yay! I played the game when I was a kid too, around that same age☺️ I remember being sooo excited to play it and I was obsessed lol. Can’t wait for Luminous!🌊
In the screen shots, the second image in the bottom, I see the wreck but what looks interesting is the two sharks one looking noticeably darker then the others, could be Thanatos again, but the shark at the top has the same silhouette or profile like that other big great white, the one with the ‘bug eyes’ as I like to call it, so makes me wanna say that Thanatos and Magu tapa are two separate things, coukd be wrong but that’s what I’m seeing!
The temple is probably the death-match map where everyone breaks out their harpoon guns in a big battle royale! That dinosaur is going to eat everyone up as time goes on... of not. D:
I'm so confused about why everyone is so worried that the entire map is going to completely change every dive, not only so they specifically word it as "discoveries" that change but also I'm pretty sure in the trailer they literally showed an arch with and without a bunch of (coral?) growths on it to demonstrate which to me seems like it's implying that whether or not certain creatures show up or the routines they go through might be different each time and there will also be natural changes to the map but the fundamental terrain will always stay the same
The fact that it says "discoveries" makes me think the exact same thing, that the Veiled Sea has a lot to offer.🌊 That's so true about the natural changes with the same map! That might be the case, thanks for sharing your thoughts✨☺
There hasn’t been anything confirming that there’s a story in the game, but we’re all hoping that it’s a part of the game! In the Blue World trailer there was no mention of a story but it ended up having an incredible one, so we shall see about Luminous😁🌊✨
@@MandysGamingGarden There has to be, EO2 had a very generic title "Blue World/Adventures of the deep", yet it had a very elaborated story, and this is titled "Luminous". They're not gonna call it Luminous for no reason. My guess is the story will revolve around some bioluminiscent legendary, or some lighting phenomenom or something.

The Japanese website says you can only to get the vieled sea with special permission. So it’s not the only one
Interesting! Good eye. Maybe the Veiled Sea is more of a map for the multiplayer option?💙
