The reason (as my dad told me) for putting the tea in the saucer to drink it, is because it cools quicker so you can drink a steaming hot cup of tea straight away. Looks like a decent breakfast to me and a good price too.
You hit the nail on the head. . . way too much negative content on TV. That's why I really enjoy your channel as it brings a lot of proper entertainment to us. Your mixture of videos really works and I especially enjoyed the electric car ones. Thank you so much for what you do.
Love those types of cafes they serve up the best food. I’m sure you already know but I would be lost without your videos Lee they are simply the best fun and love the music x
GB gets a 10/10 from me. The best full English Breakfast is the best. I am a regular and also a fan of the omelets. This place is always busy and I know why. Great service, good food and reasonably priced. Well done Chris 👍
We loved your intro the wife& I and this is why we watch every Macmaster video we find the content uplifting and very enjoyable in other words it makes us happy
Aww bless you :) I've recently joined your channel and enjoying watching your antics. It's great to see someone putting in so much enthusiasm for local businesses and great to see you enjoying your food. Really enjoying your channel, well done!!! :)
Looked great 👍 tinned tomatoes 👍 small mushrooms 👍 bacon looked quality 👍 toast cut in halfs NOT triangles 👍 swap the black pudding for a sausage and id give a 10 👍👍👍
It's all about the journey not just the destination - the destination might be breakfast. fish & chips, EV's, etc - but the banter, people & landscapes make your videos interesting & amusing - keep up the great work Lee & congratulations on 78k subscribers = onwards !
I used work with chap from Leicester who used to say "me duck" at the end of every sentence. One day at work i was driving down the M69 with him and he said "weathers nice today" Then after a 3 second pause he whispered the words "me duck" I replied "Kev did you just say "me duck" because you forgot to say "me duck" at the end of that last sentence? He replied 'Yes me duck" Cracked me up!!!
Pouring your tea into a saucer and then drinking it is from the days of Empire when it was/still is the custom for Indian natives to cool down their chai in that manner. Some English copied it and brought the practice back home.
Take no notice of the people that put this video's down I really think this is great like you say it's not just what your eating it's about the places that you go the cafés that you go or restaurant the whole videos are great and thank you for doing them and thank you to all involved and nice to meat you all to
Mc I’ve said from day one that since I’ve discovered this channel its as much about the people you meet, the places you go, the random happenings that occur, the banter, the stories, the overall vibe etc…The food is like a side dish(pun intended). Its primarily about you, you’re positivity, you’re laughter, you’re character. Heaven knows we need a good energy in these strange unforgiving times. The breakfast looked really good by the way. A quality clean plate of food. No fat or grease!! The Egg looked great and Bacon lean. That’s a 10/10 from me. Mc you could review beans on toast and it would be great. There will always be the odd doom cloud but 99% of your channel is loyal followers. Thanks for being a ray of sunshine!!☀️ P.S-You can’t knock a freebie!!😂.x
Absolutely bang on Lee. To my liking, a full English cooked perfectly. I'll go with your score, like you said, they would of not pre-buttered the toast if asked. Love the fact they didn't charge you, great family-run business that obviously appreciates your reviews, as do I. Keep them coming mate. 👍
Cracking Vlog this Lee. Really enjoying your local videos at smaller businesses. Please keep them coming. I've not watched live TV in years, just on demand these days, and your channel is certainly on demand! 😂
Excellent Lee , I walked around notts city centre for ages looking for a full English ended up at fox cafe in the end definitely not value for money but it was ok , I’m definitely visiting that cafe though maybe I should try the quayside cafe as well
Ay up chuck, greetings again from beautiful Thailand. I really enjoy the content. I do know Nottingham a little bit. My ex "Naggin' machine" came from Derby, when we got Wed we spent our first night of the Honeymoon in Nottingham before heading off to Plymouth. Passed the Lions, they didn't roar, so no Vermins in Nottingham. At one time we had a little Cottage in a Village called Horsley Woodhouse near Heanor and would often go shopping in Notts, it had a better shopping centre. We had Wards Sheffield Bitter in the Village, a fantastic pint, but I also liked Home and Kimberley Ales and did my best to rid the World of the demon booze, failing miserably, but I did try. I loved the people from up around Derby and Nottingham. Originating from KERNOW (Cornwall.) I found the people up around your area lovely and friendly. And one of my best friends in the Royal Navy, came from Mansfield Woodhouse, who left the RN, joind the Notts Constabulary and had the distinction of arresting Donald Nielson, "The Yorkshire Ripper." Long time ago now. His name Was Constable Tony White. Crackin' bloke. Unfortunately I have lost contact with him over the years. But when I hear you talking, the dialect brings back many happy memories. So thank you my friend. Ever onwards. JANBOY. RN. Rtd.
I agree with you, I might just of worked in supermarkets all my life, but I love to meet people. I’ve been the job since I was 12 and I’m 58 now always worked in the Same area, but different supermarkets.Every where I go I meet people from my work area America,Ireland and a lot of coast areas in UK,and I love it.
Hi Lee. Lovely breakfast there. And two pieces of black pudding lol! Your a good sport Lee. Always trying it. Have a lovely evening. Always love the bits at the end lol! 🥰🌞🥰Xxx
Ay Up Me Duck, oh yes a famous phrase here lol. Brekkie looked lovely, a bit out of my way, but going to make a trip to the market and try the cafe too very soon. Thanks again for a great video. xx
It's believed that 'duck' comes from the Saxon word 'ducas' which was meant as a term of respect and leadership. So when we say 'Ay up duck' we're just being respectful. The word 'duck' is used as a term of endearment from at least Shakespeare's time. It appears in A Midsummer Night's Dream (1600) and other contemporary sources.
Hi Lee You did look like you were enjoying that full English. Me & my good lady wife do love a good full English breakfast.. I'm lucky as she doesn't like tinned tomatoes, mushrooms or black pudding so she puts them on my plate... Happy day's. The juice from beans can get a bit messy, it's nice when a café put them in a bowl or dish. Hash brown take it or leave it. Cheers 😂👍
Hey Lee! I always think supporting local businesses is important. That’s why I will go to independent cafes. Looks a good breakfast. I would have asked for more well done bacon and sausage but otherwise good value. I also like my toast buttered. We all have our likes and dislikes when comes to our food choices You don’t have to explain yourself all the time. You are very entertaining to watch and I hope to meet you maybe one day. Keep up the good work as your channel just grows and grows every time. It’s been great to meet your friends and even your Harriet along the way too. Feels like a big happy family. Take care 😘👍🏻
Presentation was good Lee. Tinned toms? winner 👌well done egg? winner 👌. Only negative from me?….I much prefer the beans in a little pot/ramekin…..it keeps the beans from going cold, I find the beans lose their heat before anything else on a fry-up…..and it’s just…..neater I guess. 🤔 Keep up the good work chap. 👍👌
Lee the next time you come to the States request your fried eggs be done Over Medium, I think you will be pleasantly surprised, I had over easy for years, they weren't quite right, a server suggested Over Medium and that's how I've had them for 30 years or more. Good Luck.
Hi Lee We prefer our toast pre buttered….. breakfast looked great will come and try this cafe soon…. This will be our second Nottingham cafe… Jennifer & Ian XX
"Me duck" definitely Midlands, it was heard even around Stamford, Lincs when I first moved at the tender age of 18. That was a few years ago, now! Onwards, friends! xx
I love your food reviews, that's what brought me here in the first place. I think you was doing an Indian Restaurant in Birmingham if I remember rightly and it was bang on. The rest is history as they say, the only vlogs I don't follow are the EV ones, they bore me to tears.
That breakfast looked seriously good Lee. I agree about tinned tomatoes, Scicilian plums are my absolute favourite with a sprinkling of sugar and a good grind of black pepper. Jim N.
I forgot to add that I spent a weekend at the college for a hockey weekend there and I loved it and the people were amongst the best that the UK has to offer
Well to keep the folks happy, why not chuck in a few roast beef and Yorkshire pudding Sunday pub lunches.? That would take you to different venues! Good pubs are usually in interesting places.
Have you ever been to the Goose fair Lee, me dad used to take me in the 1990s as a kid, great fair and a cool history. Nottingham is a really interesting place to visit.
Great Value, Outstanding Breakfast!! Tip my hat 🎩 to Great Britain 🇬🇧 Cafe & Breakfast….To steal a yank expression- they hit a Home Run!! Well done 😎👍🇨🇦
I absolutely love your food reviews- especially the breakfast and chippy ones-keep em coming 😊. Your channel is really great, slowly working my way through…. You’ve definitely convinced me not to get an EV..😂😂😂😂
Good evening Lee , I deliver magazines all over the north east and Yorkshire and my main customers are farm shops . There's some stunning ones who sell the most fantastic pies , sausage rolls , scotch eggs etc , some of their restaurants and cafes are absolutely brilliant and some not so good . Maybe sometime in the future you could do a review on them . Thanks .
The bacon looked really good. The only place I could find bacon like that here in the US is at the local British market. But then you pay a high price for it.
Great motivational speech Lee, now that looked good. Even the toast looked good. I'm going 9/10. I would have given a 10 but there was only one sausage.
Agree about media negativity. I stopped watching the news a couple of years ago. I stopped reading any news except the local paper website (Chad and Nottingham Post). I even mute the radio when they have the news on the hour. I’m far less stressed for not knowing any news
We've said "I've got a dab on" in Sheffield, if I remember, since just after I was a teenager (in 1982)! It means your hot and sweating, so you have to "dab" your forehead with a cloth or towel.
Nottingham looks a wonderful city with lovely old buildings & lots of heritage. You are correct about the nay sayers criticism of your food choices but if you put content out into the world be prepared for both positive negative feedback & don’t take it personal. There is a hell of a lot of negative energy in our world today.
For me egg or tomatoes to be eaten with the bacon. Mushrooms on their own and the rest with beans. When we were kids my mum used to do tinned tomatoes with the juice and bacon for tea. Dipped with thick white bread and made a butty with the bacon
Love Sneinton and a great market there on certain days when I lived in Nottingham. Breakfast looked Great 👍. Had a friend who lived on a barge on the canal by the railway station, great life. Smashing vlog 😍.
Interesting - real delight going through town....and the classic builders/belly food its great to experience what you know....its not made to order but stuff you reheat. 😄
No ramekin for the beans, instant extra points just for that Maclad. Liked it when you turned into Alan Partridge for a second talking about using the sausage as a breakwater for the beans lol
Looks like a nice breakfast. I also agree with you about people moaning about another breakfast or fish and chips or whatever. It is good to see the food but it is the banter I come for 👍
Looked a lovely breakfast Lee, but what’s with the one sausage thing? Can’t understand why lots of cafes give you two eggs, bacon, toast etc but just one sausage!?!
I love black pudding but has to be cooked well ! Crispy outside soft inside. Always buy the traditional and goes in my suitcase for my Dubai freezer! I think people like hash browns as it stems from McDonald’s plus it’s a good booze soaker if it’s the morning after but I can leave them.

Love your words about the negativity on the bbc and itv Lee... Spot on my friend.. This is another reason why you're the main man in RUclips 👌🏻
Love this place its a classic Greasy Spoon and great value too. Written about it a couple of time on the blog over the years. People very friendly too
Love those types of cafes they serve up the best food. I’m sure you already know but I would be lost without your videos Lee they are simply the best fun and love the music x
Thanks
Thank You x
I don't care what food you review. I love your videos your channel is now a part of my itinerary. Keep it up Lee.
For the price, that was excellent - 10/10.

That looked spot on actually. I totally agree with you about toms and mushies - I'd have swapped the black pudding for another egg.
Looked great 👍 tinned tomatoes 👍 small mushrooms 👍 bacon looked quality 👍 toast cut in halfs NOT triangles 👍 swap the black pudding for a sausage and id give a 10 👍👍👍

Excellent food at GB cafe and I really like full English breakfast there👍
Not a bad looking fry up. I agree with the builders. If there's builders it's generally a good meal.
As a bus driver, a load of us go there for our breakfasts, absolutely lovely place so friendly and quality food every time! Glad you enjoyed it too!

In India they pour the tea into the saucer usually for kids so that it's yes cooled down faster

Great review view mate, I can remember my nan putting her tea in saucer lol....way down here in London
I used to live in Kirkby in Ashfield and I miss being around Notts. I still use aye up me duck. It was always so friendly!

Good breakfast good video 👍 thanks Lee
Breakfast looked good and I agree lee about the toms defo best out of a tin
looked great, catering sausage tho Lee, I wondered how long it would take before you slipped in 'breakwater'
That Breakfast looked spot on! 8.5/10!
That breakfast looked seriously good Lee. I agree about tinned tomatoes, Scicilian plums are my absolute favourite with a sprinkling of sugar and a good grind of black pepper. Jim N.
Looks good! The black puddings look nice, which is the main thing imo 👌
I agree about giving it 9.2, it looked spot on, & not too greasy!!
Loved the menu board outside. What exactly is 'rise'?
I forgot to add that I spent a weekend at the college for a hockey weekend there and I loved it and the people were amongst the best that the UK has to offer
nice to see you helping Notts business
That breakfast looked superb to me. I don’t like black pudding so it was good to hear that you can swap it for something else
Toast served separately, sure.....but once you get it buttered it has to go on the plate and be smothered by the beans, the egg & the tomatoes!
Looks really well priced
Looked a nice brekkie. I'd like to try the brekkie, the lamb kofte in tomato sauce and the chilli chicken. Huge menu at great prices.
Well to keep the folks happy, why not chuck in a few roast beef and Yorkshire pudding Sunday pub lunches.? That would take you to different venues! Good pubs are usually in interesting places.

Great video 👍 how things change
The news and soap land are trying to finish us off for good, I'm convinced! Now you've made me hungry lol😉. Keep doing what your doing and stay safe 😀
the owner made me laugh "we are serving cumberland sausage from tomorrow"
You have got to put pepper on the plum tomatoes.
The breakfast looked fantastic
That looked 👍. I heard that rumour about tipping tea in saucer as well..beast 9 for me!
Love your videos very entertaining thank you. Try stibbington cafe on the A1 Peterborough southbound, love to hear your opinion. Near wansford
The bacon looked really good. The only place I could find bacon like that here in the US is at the local British market. But then you pay a high price for it.

Yes, they are all Bastards out there.
We've said "I've got a dab on" in Sheffield, if I remember, since just after I was a teenager (in 1982)!

I would give that breakfast 10/10 looks delicious thank you 🙏 for your video
Love Sneinton and a great market there on certain days when I lived in Nottingham. Breakfast looked Great 👍. Had a friend who lived on a barge on the canal by the railway station, great life. Smashing vlog 😍.
Is it anywhere near Beeston
Interesting - real delight going through town....and the classic builders/belly food its great to experience what you know....its not made to order but stuff you reheat.
😄
No ramekin for the beans, instant extra points just for that Maclad. Liked it when you turned into Alan Partridge for a second talking about using the sausage as a breakwater for the beans lol
Hey hope your well just an idea what food don't you like as you seem to love it all
hi lee thankyou for the food review i love your vids youtube would not be the same without you 🙂
Lee that looked brilliant im sure you will be back in.
Looks like a nice breakfast. I also agree with you about people moaning about another breakfast or fish and chips or whatever. It is good to see the food but it is the banter I come for 👍
I agree very good value for money
Your preference for your fired egg is what the Americans call ‘Over easy’. They’re my fave way too. Keep the gr8 vids coming 👍.
Is this near the motor point arena? Am in Notts on Good Friday, piping up from the mighty Leicester for a few 🍻
It is. 👍🏼
Great vid really liked this one buddy
One to try as reasonably local- can wash as I go back over the border to Derby! 😛
A bit further afield Lee, you should try Tracy’s on the A444 in Coventry. Great breakfast and cobs (or batch as they call them!!)
