I've came to the point in my life where I tell myself "I accept my flaws, but I choose to make improvements." And "resilience is greater than perfection." All in all, those affirmations helped me realize that I will always be a human being. Regardless how hard I work towards making better decisions. As long as I'm able to recognize what I need to work on, it's all good. I rather fight for for a better tomorrow, than complain about problems I'm dealing with it and not do anything to improve my life.
Suffering is completely evitable, Pain is absolutely not evitable; suffering is a choice, because unfavorable disposition might make the person suffer from problems and solutions alike.
The final bit reminds me of a saying (I forget who said it unfortunately): “Life must be lived forwards but can only be understood backwards” or something like that.
Painful times suck but in them is opportunity. The thoughts, feelings, fantasies that erupted in those moments can be extraordinarily valuable. If this suffering can be held, the tension of opposites, then something new can emerge - the transcendent function. I've learned through his teachings that often a non-rational solution is required when reaching the apparently unpassable.
I can't measure how much the principals of this channel have benefited me. 2 months ago I had 7 tooth extractions and am now getting partials (replacement teeth). By allowing myself to experience the pain during that period, I've discovered an important strength within which enables me to meet the bleak uncertainty of life's realities. Of course...(Antibiotics and pain medicine were most helpful as well.)
I recently learned that my favorite author and artist, Kentaro Miura passed away on May 6th, 2021. This video has helped give me hope and clarity to move forward with a new perspective on developing myself. Thank you, Academy of Ideas!
Just amazing. I think action is extremely important part of becoming a free human being, and it makes me smile to read Jung saying it. It's not usually emphasized enough compared to contemplation/meditation.
Haven’t read Carl Jung’s work; however, Jordan Peterson is goin back to exclaiming that Carl Jung indeed was a critique of Nietzsche’s-ideal man or (Superman) philosophy after the dead of god; man who can create his own values. “Which is imposible...” “I say am gonna stop drinking, but I don’t” “I say am gonna stop eating junk food, but I don’t”
This stuff on this Chanel has blown my mind. I’ve been going through recovery from alcoholism and unconsciousness. I’m in my second year and I never imagined that I would feel so awesome coming back to life. I used to have so many problems, I was stagnating, and I never thought I’d be able to solve any of them. I had 99 problems when I was drinking and when I stopped, 97 of them went away. I no longer take any psychiatric medication, am no longer depressed or suicidal, and feel like I’m as whole as I’ve ever been since a small boy when a lot of terrible things happened.
Whenever anyone reminds me or even encourages me to live my life and accept it as much as I can while pursuing some self evolved goals, it renews me! Thank you for this video!
Again, I want to express here my deep gratitude for your work. I cannot say enough how powerful your words are to me, and from what I see, to this community. In fact, the whole visual universe, the paintings, the quotes, the disciplined reasoning and good-will, all these come to me as solace, as if I had found a sort mental home. The level of synchronicity regarding the videos that come out in relation to my actual life processes is off the chart, and I've been following this channel for years. Thank you very much for this content.
thank you to who is making this channel! been through a lot these past years. moved around the country and lost my religion, started a new creative project, dropped out of law school. i’m discovering who i am, who i was and who i can be. reaching deep into the potential of what i am. when i look bad at pictures of myself from a few years ago i don’t identify or even feel like that was me. in some cases this scares me cause it’s like well if i can change so much from then what if i never settle into my identify? started going to see a psychologist as i’ve always been pretty neurotic and starting to feel like i can understand my mind and how trauma and past influences my feelings. these videos are so great to look inward and understand myself more. i’ve got a long way to go but glad to be on the journey :)
I had an experience lasting a few years in which I was physically torn down to skin and bones. I ate on my hands and knees because I couldn't sit or stand much. At one point I broke a bit lol and I think I actually tried to get away from the pain, there was nowhere to hide. That was when I made my first saying like a mantra, "if this is the price I pay for life then I'll pay it everyday". I'm a simple guy and easy to trick I suppose, my next mantra was " I don't feel yesterday's pain". Thanks for this upload, up until now Jung was just a name to me.
Often I have seen interpretations of what Jung expresses oversimplified and taken out of context. This is generally done by a group/culture which is overlooked by mainstream academia because of the "spiritual magic" these folks are also associated with. Thank you Academy of Ideas for giving a clear and concise summarization of Jungian ideas which will hopefully give more credibility to the existential thinking of Jung. Looking forward to more videos with this continued level of brevity and easier to absorb cadence.
@@trappart9209 Jung heavily relied on alchemy, spirituality and hermeticism to explore the human mind. To compare his work with 'self-development' is comparing an ocean to a lake.
7:34 "...a goal or a mission can help pull us from the passivity of a disease of despair by diverting our focus and energy from pathologic interests to more constructive and reality based pursuits." I felt that right in the gut.
Incredible presentation. Every time I've ever been exposed to Jung's teacahings I realize I need to dig deeper. He contributed an incredible amount of wisdom to what it is to be human.
The teachers whom I gravitated towards taught me these lessons. I don't let things out of my control bother me very much, I hold no regrets over my past, I accept everything that has happened to me because I know that those events has made me who I am today. Now I can forgive more easily and accept current conditions, now I can remove toxicity easier, now I can find independence under God's guiding light to give me the strength, knowledge, and fortitude to push through hardships and become a leading father in my future family, hopefully one day a leader in my community. Happiness and peace is more profound these days (even during troubled times) and it has given me drive to succeed at challenging things.
It is incredible that I understand all of this bc of 2020. It was maybe the anxiety I experienced from it all that pushed me in the direction to discover myself & these concepts that I never put words to but understand them by feeling wholeheartedly. It is a reworking of the Matrix and I am the architect. What freedom & joy it is to paint the sky.

What happens when you try to follow the path of individuation and find yourself lonely and misunderstood? When everyone around you seems to be stuck on autopilot mode, wasting away their lives. When you would like to have partners to go through the path of self actualization but everyone around you seems too distracted with banality. What happens then?
I disagree with both of these comments, respectfully of course. Though being able to be alone with your thoughts is a healthy part of life, the human psyche is not designed to be alone for extended periods of time even if it is voluntary. I can only hope that if you truly a pursuing the path to individuation, that you will inevitably make choices that guides towards others who think alike. Indeed, this may take months, or even years to occur, but I think it is reasonable. It also depends on your stage in life. If you are at college/university, then there are definitely in the right environment to find those who think the right way even if they are few. If you are in high school, perhaps less so. Maybe you can use one of your passions or skills to join a community where you must force yourself to interact with others, probing their character simultaneously. This is the best answer I can conjure. Tyler
Loneliness is part of the journey. Identifying and attaching yourself with someone or a group is the opposite of individuation. The process is about connection and identity with the Self. Jesus in the desert is the first example that comes to mind.
I don't mean to plug myself, but the process of individuation involves utilizing psychic functions to grow as a person. The most important of these functions is that which the anima provides; essentially it allows us to regenerate after ego death. I made a video about this on my channel, it is quite crucial if you want to understand how to individuate and truly transform your personality.
"What is to come is created in you and from you" Hm, yeah... in the sense that the internal reaction which is ever present will only come from myself. This internal reaction is far more important that the external actions taken by other people.
I find listening/reading Jung interesting, thought provoking and insightful. In discussing Jung ideas and thoughts I have found it is easier to focus on the concept of individuation as 'doing what I want to do for me' and either not thinking or focusing and even ignoring the concept of growth through wisdom and by acting in mature, wise and moral ways. I am older and I STILL have lots to work on.

Great job with these very informative videos....I could listen for hours but the masses can't so having these short videos is brilliant
The final bit reminds me of a saying (I forget who said it unfortunately): “Life must be lived forwards but can only be understood backwards” or something like that.
It was Kierkegaard who originally said this. I hope that helps you!
This channel is outstanding!! Presenting Jung in a concise understandable way. This should be part of high school curriculum
"Every life is a mistake for no one has found the truth"🙏
One of the best channels on youtube. I love seeing all the quotes people share in the comments section.
being at peace with yourself is the most difficult thing you can do but it's the greatest gift you can give yourself.
Just amazing. I think action is extremely important part of becoming a free human being, and it makes me smile to read Jung saying it. It's not usually emphasized enough compared to contemplation/meditation.
Congratulations on one millions subscribers ! You’ve helped me along my journey understand a lot more about the self and human experience , thank you.
Carl Jung was doing God’s work
Hello behan
True
Haven’t read Carl Jung’s work; however, Jordan Peterson is goin back to exclaiming that Carl Jung indeed was a critique of Nietzsche’s-ideal man or (Superman) philosophy after the dead of god; man who can create his own values.

To restore Nietzsche Superman.
Wishing the best to you guys
Jung and Nietzsche were on a different level of genius . So thankful I came across them

The level of synchronicity regarding the videos that come out in relation to my actual life processes is off the chart, and I've been following this channel for years.
Thank you very much for this content.
God bless this channel 🙏🏼
Saint Michel blesses Academy of Ideas.
thank you to who is making this channel! been through a lot these past years. moved around the country and lost my religion, started a new creative project, dropped out of law school. i’m discovering who i am, who i was and who i can be. reaching deep into the potential of what i am. when i look bad at pictures of myself from a few years ago i don’t identify or even feel like that was me. in some cases this scares me cause it’s like well if i can change so much from then what if i never settle into my identify? started going to see a psychologist as i’ve always been pretty neurotic and starting to feel like i can understand my mind and how trauma and past influences my feelings. these videos are so great to look inward and understand myself more. i’ve got a long way to go but glad to be on the journey :)
You make some of the very best videos on RUclips. I think I've told you that before, but please keep bringing us these things.
Best channel on self development and realising the truths... Love from India♥️
Looking forward to more videos with this continued level of brevity and easier to absorb cadence.
this is exactly what Jung is not. This may resonate because it is in line with the self-development narrative.
@@rapisode1 could you explain, please?
@@trappart9209 Jung heavily relied on alchemy, spirituality and hermeticism to explore the human mind. To compare his work with 'self-development' is comparing an ocean to a lake.
I have struggled with forgiveness and this opened my eyes to what really matters! Another masterpiece of a video.
I agree, forgiveness is not an easy practice.
7:34 "...a goal or a mission can help pull us from the passivity of a disease of despair by diverting our focus and energy from pathologic interests to more constructive and reality based pursuits." I felt that right in the gut.
Powerful video.
I hope the youtube algorithm recommends this to people. Many would benefit from watching this.
Listen to this every morning to start the day.

Not seen that before, nice one.👍👍
sadly there's no place for anything but the lie that statistics is. get off the grid or conform.
EXCELLENT: LIVE IN OUR OWN FLOW!
One of the rare cases that a video deserves a standing ovation! Excellent work.
It is incredible that I understand all of this bc of 2020. It was maybe the anxiety I experienced from it all that pushed me in the direction to discover myself & these concepts that I never put words to but understand them by feeling wholeheartedly. It is a reworking of the Matrix and I am the architect. What freedom & joy it is to paint the sky.
been pushing off my process of individuation (complete isolation/Tent in nature). Praise the most high. This is a major key to my path and I thank you for holding it.🤲🏾
What I find amazing is how you refer to so many different works. Jung's complete collection of works is a true jungle and one can only imagine how many hours of reading time go behind a video like this. If you were to make a video on how you prepare these videos, I'd jump on it, even if behind a pay-wall.
He combines random quotes to put forward his own view on self-development, this has nothing to do with individuation.
@@rapisode1 I don't think you've slashed thru much of the jungle... As evidenced by your naive understanding of individuation.
@@JD-hi8qx Haha you don't know me at all and yet you assume that you do. That's a major red flag
This is so refreshing, to see these deep ideas from Jung presented so well. You are doing a great thing by putting this knowledge out there and editing it so concisely. Bravo
I've read a little philosophy but don't have the apptitude for the verbosity of the written word in book form , I am very grateful for the way in which you deliver these important ideas with brevity in spoken word. And the depth of your library of videos is incredible , and as another reviewer wrote the consistent quality.. Many , many thanks for the great work ✌️
You do a good job of compiling quotes in your lessons. I learn a great deal. Much appreciated.
Thank you Carl Jung🙏Thank you Acadamy of Ideas🙏This morning I discovered my truth.....
Jungs work is terrifyingly beautiful
Dropping everything for these videos! Let’s gooooo!!! ✌🏻
Let us become god unto our self!
Perfect for exactly what I'm going through right now. I always watch these twice.
It feels good to be under false impression of being an individual through exerting oneself in the reflection of someone's magnificent work but does one attains it in reality is different.
The art in these videos is always amazing
This channel provides timely answers to questions I didnt even know how to ask.
I don't think I have ever discovered as much absolutely breathtaking public domain artwork as I have through Academy of Ideas, their videos are worth watching just for the art alone
I decide my path to greatness, whether that entails a likelihood of failed attempts, I owe it to myself to become an individual.
yesterday..... literally yesterday I was itching for this EXACT video. im genuinely baffled
What I seek is seeking me.
This channel is newly discovered or maybe I should say I was pointed here. This is the best food for thought yet down to Earth channel around. Thank you for the efforts.

What happens when you try to follow the path of individuation and find yourself lonely and misunderstood? When everyone around you seems to be stuck on autopilot mode, wasting away their lives. When you would like to have partners to go through the path of self actualization but everyone around you seems too distracted with banality. What happens then?
Go alone.
Alone with god.
You're not individuated if you feel lonely.
The two iust dont go together. Individuation automatically rises a person above loneliness.
"What is to come is created in you and from you"
Hm, yeah... in the sense that the internal reaction which is ever present will only come from myself. This internal reaction is far more important that the external actions taken by other people.

Thank you Academy of Ideas!! About time we had "continued learning" apart from our day-to-day.
I'm so thankful for such a caring, responsible research and the high quality of the video.
This is the single most impactful video I have ever watched. Or maybe I was in the need of it.
This is so powerful. I find it extremely accurate
Reading few comments; What a wonderful insightful people here, delighted to see,
This is by far the best channel on YT... Thank you..
