During the first game of the finals, Kang Hyungho was in poor health, but he sang this song desperately while receiving support from the members. It was sad, and the sadness of the breakup was clearly evident. It's a shame it wasn't that video.

It’s always emotional when they do this song. For the next version Martha has sent you, HyungHo …he wasn’t PITTA then, so it would be more accurate to refer to him as his Forestella member name….was actually hospitalised on a drip …he was extremely unwell, but returned to the Phantom Singer 2 competition shortly before they were due to perform…Its actually documented on film in a fan RUclips series Forestory. (Something worth reacting to as an informative 4-part series shows their journey..there are English subtitled versions ..) He was so upset that he might have damaged their chances in the competition because it was a Do or Die round, but the others rallied around him and reassured him, …it’s a testament to their bond back then already in 2017. They do get emotional whenever they sing this song as you can see here in this later performance ….for obvious reasons.

Qué pena que la versión que eligieron no es la de la competencia.... esa es realmente emocionante. Se puede sentir y ver la desesperación de los cantantes.
Para poner la situación en contexto, hay que decir que Hyungho, cuando se presentó en Phantom Singer vivía en Busan, a 320 km de Seúl. Allí trabajaba como investigador en una empresa ( Su sueño siempre fue cantar pero no tuvo apoyo familiar. Así que se graduó en Ingeniería química. Y era parte de una banda de rock universitaria que se llamaba Pitta. Decidió presentarse a la competencia aún sin tener formación musical previa. Sólo era amateur con mucha sed de trascender, de lograr su sueño. Porque si iba a darse por vencido de su sueño, primero iba a probar suerte. Esa fue su primera puesta a prueba... competir frente a cantantes, algunos con formación lírica. La interpretación del Fantasma de la Ópera le dio crédito ante el jurado y empezó a ser tenido en cuenta por su versatilidad y hermosa voz). Viajaba para los ensayos y competencia. El cansancio, la suma de responsabilidades y la presión creciente de ver que de él dependía la consagración del grupo lo pusieron en una situación de estrés extremo. Tanto, que el día que tenían que cantar Maldita sea mi suerte tuvo que ser atendido y suministrado suero. Sentía que no tenía voz y que su circulación sanguínea no funcionaba. Fue conmovedor el abrazo contenedor que le dio el resto del grupo antes de salir a escena, prometiendo Mingyu hacer las notas altas por él. Durante la canción en el momento previo a cantar su parte solo, Hyungho le hace un gesto a Mingyu con la cabeza, avisando que va a poder. Creo que sabiendo la historia es inevitable romper en llanto. Ese joven dio alma y vida por su grupo en esa interpretación. Sentía que no podía permitirse hechar a perder todo el esfuerzo del grupo para llegar a esa instancia. Su compromiso fue abrumador. El resultado ya es conocido... ❤
Cuando lanzó su carrera como solista, bajo el nombre de la banda de su época de universitario, Pitta, escribió varias canciones. Entre ellas Be Free. Es hermosa. Resume su viaje hasta llegar a convertirse en Cantante.

Khang wasnt only unwell...he was send to the hospital but came back to phantom singer because he wonted let down his friends! It was a risk for his voice but it got well! It was verry emotional for him and the other boys!At the end Forestella won!
