    The fiber plate on the bottom that the rear pickup that you have is attached to, that plate has a copper strip attached to its top side. the copper strip has a slot near each end. The pick up slips between the fiber piece and the copper strip. If you look at the one pickup that you have you can see how it fits in. you need to use a small screwdriver or some similar tool to lift up the copper strip enough to slid the new pickup in place so that it locks in the slot on the copper strip.

    You need to get another pickup. This locomotive has two pickups for track power. One at the front of the motor which is missing, and the one at the back of the motor which you have. With only one pick up it won't make it though switches. Dont try to take the valve gear apart. Just find the right screws.

      I didn’t know that about the pickup - I haven’t tried it through switches yet. Thanks for the info. About the valve gear - wait for Part 4 - I already have it filmed - just need to finish editing it…

      SPOILER ALERT - I ordered new screws for the valve gear!!! 😁
