Thank you for this wonderful illustration of the love between the hero Alexander and his beloved, Hephaestion.There was no ambuguity about the two and their love, no opposition, no controversy. There was no one to say it was wrong. That mindset didn't come about until a few centuries later with unfortunate results. It would be equally wonderful to see a tribute to the "Sacred Band of Thebes." For anyone unfamiliar with that Sacred Band, here is a brief description from Wikipedia: "The Sacred Band of Thebes was a troop of select soldiers consisting of 150 pairs of male lovers, which formed the elite force of the Theban army in the 4th century BC, ending Spartan domination. Its predominance began with its crucial role in the Battle of Leuctra in 371 BC. It was annihilated by Philip II of Macedon in the Battle of Chaeronea in 338 BC."
