    There are many British Overseas Territories and Crown Dependencies which offer a better quality of life than the UK. Next to Jersey there is also the Bailiwick of Guernsey (Sark, Alderney, and Guernsey) next door. The taxes are lower and the public services are also better, the rule of law is strong as the courts aren't underfunded.

    Sure, Slovenia is quite safe, and perhaps for an expat who has already made a lot of his money and has arrangements elsewhere, it might be a good place to retire in. As for a business I wouldn't suggest Slovenia, even for being self employed, although if one is making under 50K/annum it's not that bad. The worst is if one is employed by a company, which means that they are taxed (all the taxes, contributions) at about 76% gross.

    Regarding Monaco, I would like to mention that regarding the very special geography of Monaco, one should not ignore the situation in the south of France, because most people will rather use Monaco as a place to sleep and possibly work, but will often spend their days or evenings in Nice and other neighbouring cities. Can't agree that Australia is unsafe. Too bad the getting residence permits and permanent residence in these countries is so all over the place. Portugal is simple and cheap. Can't say the same for Switzerland or Monaco

    Watching this I'm thinking to myself: 'I wonder which country will be the first to adopt English as their national language and give up the one they have. That's gonna be a game changer. This would be especially easy and beneficial for countries that have a language that only 10-20 million or less people on this planet speak: romanian, hungarian, macedonian, etc.'

    • @maticjelovcan
      @maticjelovcan 4 года назад +1

      Slovenia has a lot of problems with taxes and regulations, but almost everyone, except perhaps elderly and some outliers, understands English, even speak if they have to (honestly most people speak it too, but are sometimes afraid it's not good enough, which is rarely true).

    • @nyckathenomad
      @nyckathenomad 3 года назад +1

      Languages are linked to culture. Anyone speaking fluently at least one foreign language can understand this. A change in the national language would be disrespectful to their own culture.

      @@nyckathenomad Actually I am a native hungarian AND romanian speaker (my parent's respective language) and am a fluent english speaker. I also dabble a bit in german. It's too complicated. I wish I only had to learn english and spent the memory bandwidth I'd free up on more useful shit.

    Georgia is a powder keg. Part of the country is under Russian occupation after the 2008 war, while the pro-Russian government of traitors in action, former President Saakashvili is illegally in prison, often popular protests against the authorities....
    Although I adore Georgia, the culture, nature and cuisine, but the situation there is extremely unstable.
