Imagine this location during the Ice Age period? You'd have Short Faced Bear Arctotherium, Giant Condors, and Dire "Wolves" instead. A shame they're extinct today.
@@jamesfrystak wow!!! I'm surprised the flies didn't penetrate further into it faster than that, I've seen what maggots can do to a smaller unattended carcass and was really shocked at how it went from animal to bone in such a small time frame.
Very very cool 👍
Thanks!
So wild! love seeing the wolves up close :D
Great footage. Exciting to see nature in action.
Thanks Andre! I love seeing their natural behaviour.
Great footage, James. That smell…..
Thanks! The smell that lingers, days after you leave.
Bear and wolf: we eating good tonite boys
That for sure.
Rest in peace whale, you were a dinner and a feast to all

That would make for some interesting natural history films.
Dire wolves were not on south america. Arctodus simus lived with dire wolves.
Those animals must have thought they won the freaking calorie lottery....all that meat and none of the hunting!
It contributed to the black bear not having to hibernate
@@jamesfrystak Seems like it would 'go bad', but I guess nature has preservatives we can only guess at.
Awesome!
Thanks!
AMAZING!!!
Thanks Alison!
Bear! Wolf! And Eagles… all sharing the same dinner. Do they eat the whole carcass over time? What other BC wildlife would show up for a ‘bite’?
They worked on this carcass for a year before the tide washed it away.

WOW! How long will that meal last?
It lasted for about 10 months then the tide took it away.
As gross as it would be to dig for, wonder if any ambergris hunters were around the carcass.
