@a2rc yes I actually am getting back into touring cars after a hiatus from that part of the hobby. I have a couple team associated ntc3's and and a rs4 that I just purchased last week to restore. I forgot how fun on road cars actually are!

Great kit! These were very popular in my area during their time. Also that was a potent engine for non sanctioned races. Classic setup you have. Awesome video review bro! 💯🔥🔥🏎💨👍🏾👍🏾

@@a2rc I didnt have one, I always wanted one though. I still have 2 of my kits from those days(Trinity Reflex Nt and Team Magic G4/Rdlogics Mongoose). For events that followed Roar or Ifmar rules the engines could only be 3 ports. At the time in my area Southern MD Sirio, Any and everything Novarossi Based, Picco, and O.S were the most popular engines. But Club Racing is where the 5 port outlaws shined. Keep up the great job i always enjoy your work👍🏾
@@MrLilChilly Thanks for the info. The formal races all had their rules but, I agree, it was more fun with club races. Rules were a lot more flexible. It was always fun to see folks personal/creative builds I have 2 G4s being rebuilt right now. They will eventually make it to the channel. One is a formal TM and the other is the RD Mongoose. As you know, they are very similar but, they to have their small differences. Got to love all the Race Touring action 💯

If i'm not mistaking the mongoose is more similar to the G4s then the original G4. Also the Trinity Reflex Nt and Kyosho V-One R series are a part of the evolution to. Man I'm going down memory lane😂 Good to see people still enjoying the kits from the touring car hayday era🫡
Some of the hop up parts are hard to find.I have a shelf queen myself ,have it for over 15 years now it’s a beautifull piece of engineering.Great video bud.

Man, I can't to see those speen numbers! I'm just wondring but is the R40 the challenger to the Mugen's and Xrays and what was produced first. I've noticed on Ebay that they are still selling Mugens and Xrays.
Yep, they were all racing each other. Mugen, Serpent, Kyosho, AE, Schumacher, Team Magic, etc all raced back in 2004 - I’m looking forward to getting the R40 out to the speed run area too. Should make for a fun POV Adventure Thank your for watchn’ 🩷

At times, there is more to “set-up and do” with the cars. In my opinion, they’re more similar to full scale car than the truck models are (if that makes sense). - So, someone would need to enjoy that build/set-up and test aspect of the hobby but, if you at all enjoy it, it’s easy to fall in love with the touring car segment - Let me know if you end up getting one. I would love to hear about it
Hi Drumbone. Thanks for the question. They are zip ties as a universal way to help protect the head on a roll over. - Its something that we have been doing for forever and works really well. Cheap and easy but, very functional. They add a little color to the build as well I appreciate you taking the time to write and for watchn’ 🩷

When NOVA finally comes out with their Race .12 series engines, I’m sure I will pick one up. It will either go in the R40 or one of my G4 builds - Do you have a R40? The same set up yours with the pipe with the motor is MT12 modified.But I haven't run in years.I haven't taken apart and ungummy it

Well I took the Back plate off the motor clean it up come springtime buy new form tires and try it out
