    I think the difference is that sports in the US is just show, an event.
    In Europe, your club is your life. You take vacation just to drive across the country to support your club. No matter if you're team is successful or has a losing streak. It's a lifestyle, it's your life.

    The difference is that in Europe you come to support your team no matter what their situation is. As a high school student here in America, when we were losing 1-2 a football (soccer) game and there were 2 minutes left, everyone started to leave. In Europe if your team is losing 10-0 and there are 5 seconds left, you stay there until the last whistle.

    In german Football, you go into the Stadium for watching the game and to live and celebrate that atmosphere. The fans do all to push there team forward. In the case of my hometown Magdeburg (2. Bundesliga), the whole Stadium is chanting over 90 minutes. The athmosphere of the 1. FC Magdeburg Stadium is called to be a „Hexenkessel“. Perhaps you can translate it with „Witch Boiler“ or with „couldron“. 1. FC Magdeburg is called to be one of the loudest stadiums ever (with just 27000 viewers capacity). Watch some Stadium vlogs of FCM ;)

    I have said this on other ppl that have reacted to this video, you can see the budding of a suporter culture, you need to keep in mind that some of the clubs in eruope are from the mid 1800's and rivalires that have been festering sence then both between cities and between different social structures in society some clubs are seen as rich people clubs while other are blue collar workers clubs and all this baked in with that often your love for your club is inherited from family members for generations

    To put into context, supposedly the loudest stadium recorded a 142.2 decibels; that was a NFL game at kansas City chiefs, arrowhead stadium with a capacity of 76,416. On the other hand the loudest Europe football game was at 131 decibels at turk telecom arena. Their capacity is at 52,652. That's a difference of 23,764 less people for only 11.2 decibels. The difference is crazy tbf 😂

    • @jonasgraumans2034
      @jonasgraumans2034 2 года назад +13

      Hate to be the one to say it, but decibels are logarithmic, so ten more means times a factor of ten, so the chiefs stadium was 11.2 times louder.

      @@jonasgraumans2034 Percieved loudness doubles every 10 dezibels. It's factor 2 not 10. But it's still not "only 11 dezibels". I agree on that

    The original video mixed it up a little bit. For sure there was the French national team playing (and therefore their national anthem) as well as the Romanian team at the end, so you could compere it to the USNS playing and the crowd chanting the Stars and Stripes. I imagine at 10:18 at was the Romanian team playing, but not sure of that.
    It's a total different vibe when your club team is playing compared to your national team in Europe, even if for many supporters they will be as fanatic for their club as for their national team.
    Big difference: you'll almost never will see national flags in Europe when your club team is playing, only during games betweens national teams. Rather strange, as a European, to see all those national flags in the NBA, NFL, ... games. In Europe, when your club team is playing, those are the colours you're supporting...
