I liked your interpretation of the song as it is similar to mine. I know mine is kind of faulty but It seems more beautiful that way. I interpret this song in 3 ways: 1. The obvious story of yunus being karma or some high entity as we can see he's always present, penning his actions down. And when anjum crashes his car and meets yunus in spirit he realises everything ,everything he had known and everything he didn't. It's not a judgement but a realisation that your actions led to this , this is you . Yunus was just the observer nothing more. 2. In my limited knowledge of urdu 'afsanay' means 'a narrative' . And since the hook says 'afsanay ab mei likhta nhi hoon' . The second meaning of the song is just the contrary that this is an 'afsana' a short narrative by anjum. We can see in the music video that anjum is involved in the shady aspects of life like crime and drugs smuggling. So a part of him , the part that makes him feel 'free' built that narrative (narrative here means this entire song). The concept of yunus and everything is his narrative , a creation of art to get relief from his awful life (according to the music video) 3. And finally the most important interpretation in my opinion : this is just a huge metaphor. Yunus actually is self reflection of anjum. Yunus is the the introspection of anjum , he represents the 'poetic , uncorrupted artist ' the version of anjum that could have been instead of what he is of now. And the biggest proof is the way anjum looks at yunus at the end is the same way as he was looking at his reflection in the mirror. Yunus is the 'man in the mirror' the better part , the hopeful part. And therefore everything is a metaphor. The 'death of the girl' is actually a representation of him pushing away a beloved in such a harsh manner that the relationship was dead. Him 'driving like crazy' is a representation of him trying to search to repair or to find what he lost . And him crashing and meeting yunus is representation of self actualization after taking a huge downfall. Atleast this is how I interpreted this .
