  • This video shows how to find the surface area of prisms such as a triangular prism and a trapezoid prism. Ideal for GCSE maths. On www.corbettmaths.com/contents there are videos for surface areas of cuboids, cubes, cylinders, spheres, cones etc

Is there a reason why the total surface area isn't cubed rather than squared? I thought that because it was a 3D shape it would be cubed.

Area is measured in cm squared

the volume is cubed, but the surface area is squared as it is an area.

Kai Johnson it’s the area not not volume (which would make it cubed)
