I relate to the part where you said you like listening to your friends but then it becomes one sided because you don't even get to talk about yourself and you feel used for them dumping their problems on you. I also ended 1 friendship because of that... I would always listen to the same problems for years. And when I would want to vent and talk about mine, that person would interrupt me, would become distracted and look on their phone or say something short like "umm, I see" and then continue about herself again. Felt like I wasn't important, it was important that I just listen to her. It was painful, and she was the longest friend (I've had. But I could not take it anymore. We are important too, the ones that do all the listening and active participating in the discussion.
“I don’t roll that way” SERIOUSLY THE AMOUNT OF TIMES IVE HAD TO SAY THIS TO SOMEONE, I don’t like guys that way, and people just still don’t get it, and question me 🤣🤣 someday they will understand. Hopefully
It's always hard to go through something like that. People you think are really good and true friends, turn out not be. I've lost so-called "Friends" just because we disagreed on something. People I've known for decades turned their backs on me for trying to share information with them that I thought would help them. But instead of just saying they didn't agree with it, they attacked me and even unfriended me and blocked me. I'm glad you've been able to grow and learn from this experience, and moved forward in a better direction.
to me, the idea of feeling connected to someone doesn't mean you should try to individually connect with them. especially with so many degrees of separation. when you feel drawn toward something, you align yourself with it. but feeling the need to hold impact with someone, to mean something to someone, that comes from a place of lack or scarcity in my opinion. that being said, I recall you speaking on this relationship previously and I'm sorry that it didn't work out between you. but I know you will always hold the lessons and memories you've experienced together, and so it will always have worked out in a way. love and blessings always Tony
Believe me, even before the internet, people were connecting with strangers- through snail mail! They would write to people who lived in other towns, states, countries, usually having gotten their address from magazines that had pen pal pages. People were okay with putting their addresses in public places. I had a situation where someone made it seem like we were soulmates. I wanted to do a vlog about it and I did, yesterday, it's not public, it's just to get it out like you said. I'm sorry your friendship did not turn out to be long lasting, I suppose we all have people in our lives we learned lessons through. It's nice to get the full story here since I remember when it all was going down it was confusing as to what happened. I was not a viewer who wrote nasty messages to you nor was I ever contacted by her but I do remember feeling weird about you dropping her. I guess she did come off as innocent. I think that back then, per your own admission, you had an aura of arrogance that caused people to side with her since she had an aura of being innocent. You have grown tremendously, I am grateful you grew up and you learned about yourself. I know that stuff I did in my early 20s is embarrassing to me because I didn't realize how one-sided I was being. I know that I didn't always treat people the best way. I appreciate your insights, candor and vulnerability in this video and your other story times.
