S1: nope... OP is not young and stupid. OP is a backstabber. I mean, cheating with brother'a OP? Seriously? Being stupid is when you're playing game knowing you'll have test tomorrow. Not backstabbing your own family. The mental gymnastic is just too ridiculous it's disgusting
1st story: I wonder if some of the Redditors that suggested that OP continue to go after the brother he had betrayed was hoping to see the brother reject the OP’s apology and walk away from him. I admit, every time I hear stories like this, it brings me back to the speech Herb gave to Bojack Horseman because it hits home: Despite all the talks of forgiveness, the victim doesn’t have to forgive the one that wronged them. They don’t have to be their betrayer’s prop just so the betrayer can feel better.
I agree with you, that scene in Bojack hit different. Bojack thought he deserved forgiveness, to the point when herb didn't accept it he was confused because he thought "that's not how this works". But it is. Forgiveness belongs to the victim. And they aren't obligated to forgive. No, there is no "but you shouldn't hold a grudge, it's not good for you" and "you need to forgive, for your own well being". Well, you absolutely can live perfectly fine and happy without forgiving. It's easy to just stop caring about that person, to just stop hating them and not care about that person.
@ And that’s what the brother did here: He didn’t let what the OP did ruin his life: He moved on and built something new for himself. He just stopped caring about the OP, as it was a waste to worry about him after what he did. Not worth it.
Same, honestly. I love using Bojack Horseman quotes, Herb's speech, Charlotte's speech on Hollywood being a Tar Pit, Todd's "It's You" speech, and Wanda's Rose-colored glasses remark.
Story 1: he said it was a drunken mistake, but he wasn't drunk, only she was. He betrayed his brother because he wanted to. He should have immediately told his brother what his gf tried to do but instead hurt him and said nothing lol it was the girl who told him! I can't even imagine the heartache of your own little brother, who you give everything to betraying you over some girl he doesn't even care about. What a selfish, disgusting, evil piece of crap.
1st Story: OP lists so many good qualities that his brother has, and it's too bad that he didn't pick up on any of them. He can't even put the blame on alcohol because he himself was sober enough to drive himself and Crista home.
Self destructive girlfriend and loose brother. Ops brother is better off without all of them At least OP had the decency to not (Update) I dont know if OP listened to idiots purposely or accidentally.
Story 1 OP really shows he's been selfish his whole life and has not changed. The entire way through it was about his pain, his troubles, his issues- that he caused! And then when he finally finds his brother it's about his need for closure and to apologize. He doesn't even ask his brother to reach out to their parents, who were also ghosted. OP really is still the same selfish person that cheated ten years ago.
2nd Story: If the mother does not work and Jack is on disability, I guarantee that they both were stewing in their own misery, angry that the person that they want to use as a punching bag is doing better in life than they are. OP doesn't owe her mother anything. She and Jack and get evicted and live in a homeless shelter. And that is more than they deserve.
It's probably because they'd spout the you need to forgive OP, he made a mistake blah blah blah line, I'm guessing either OP is the golden child or at most more heavily favoured than the brother judging by their reaction to being told about the situation and not shunning op immediately.
Story 1: OP didn't do anything wrong... His brother was inadequate for his gf and he should work on bettering himself rather than blaming his whole family.
The fact he says stuck in the past like if its something his brother should let go of is insane. He doesn't deserve forgiveness or closure.
He didn't actually say that, that is just a title that this channel made up like every Reddit stories channel on RUclips.

ST 1: Dude betrayed the one person that had his back unconditionally and he's throwing a hissy-fit because... what??
Because he believes he deserves forgiveness, but, he doesn't.
I actually feel bad for the parents in story 1, they literally lost their older son for action outside their control and had to live with the cause
Story 1: the fact OP thinks his former brother should "just get over it", tells me he really isnt all that sorry at all.
Garbage human being

S3: Isn’t it amazing how many times people call someone one of their best friends only to then describe said friendship and it’s nothing of the sort?

"Stuck in the past"
Nah, he's better off without you

Story1:

Self destructive girlfriend and loose brother.
Ops brother is better off without all of them
At least OP had the decency to not

Story 1 you betrayed your brother as you were jealous and you know what even know it shows hyping him up but then me me me

S1: the OP is at fault 100% but I am curious what about the parents why did he cut ties with them, a lot of information is missing.
He didn't want to hear that he should forgive him from them. He knows them and their priorities
It's probably because they'd spout the you need to forgive OP, he made a mistake blah blah blah line, I'm guessing either OP is the golden child or at most more heavily favoured than the brother judging by their reaction to being told about the situation and not shunning op immediately.
Story one if he was my brother I'd be going to prison, he'd never be the same again
Is op the golden child
Story2 NTA AHs like Jack are why the 2a and Castle Doctrine laws exists
Don't ask him to forgive you ask him to call your parents
Youve been forgiven with time but it doesnt mean you get to be in his life again.
Story 1 fanfiction brainrot type of writing
Story 1: OP didn't do anything wrong... His brother was inadequate for his gf and he should work on bettering himself rather than blaming his whole family.
