I have two questions:
What's a good guide size for sdxl for a full res image (1024x1024 / portrait or horizontal)?
Is there a way to better preserve the original face as I think it changes too much, lowering the denoising value does not really fix this.

thanks! nice to know you are using it.
good resolutions for sdxl are: 832x1216 / 896x1152 (u can flip it for vertical/horizontal ) about the face - you can try to use higher weight for the ipadapter

why sometime when i click generate, sometime the face detailer like ignore to fix face and just continue to my next nodee which is upcaler (without fixing the face first)

not sure, maybe it has difficult recognize the face due to low resolution

The lower the resolution, the more likely you are to get a distorted face

you can try... It depends on how big
and if it's doesn't work, make it smaller

you can always send to the detailer , only the part with the face that you want to change

Only manually hide (color over) in Photosop not needed faces. Then restore needed face - and go back in Photoshop. Only manually yet.

you can crop the part with the face - send it to detailer and then composite the image

Interesting but I can't make it run on old weak rx580 amd. Says "error 256 tensor b" something. Lowereing resolution and making batch even to 1 didn't help. It worked only once when I made batch 4 but lowered steps to 2 or 3...

It is a memory hog. It runs slow on my 4090 with biggish images.
