She wasn't my favorite, but after listening to her few times I must admit that's one of the most original and interesting songs of this Eurovision and even Spain. I think it was too surreal and even a little psychedelic for taste of most people. I love it.

That's exactly what the problem is. 95% of the viewers that vote in the Eurovision just vote for the first impression they've got from a performance. They only listen to the songs once and they make a very arguable judgement of the songs. For me this Spanish entry caught my eye right from the beginning and I did listen to all the songs 5 times to make my judgement. General public goes only for first impressions that's why real music is left behind unfortunately.
I hadn't even planned on voting for Spain even though i liked the song but after her performance i was so starstruck i immediately chose to vote for her! Was absolutely gutted when the results came out, she did such an exceptional job
This is art. I'm Chinese-Australian and don't understand anything about flamenco, but the depth and artistry of her performance completely mesmerised me. Would have voted more times if I knew the result would be this criminal! Blanco Paloma was robbed, and I will never forgive the European public for choosing overproduced pop songs over this cultural masterpiece.
The main problem with this song is that it is Arab music, in a language that is not Castillian (aka Spanish). I assume it's Arabic, but I can't confirm. It's good music, but I cannot support it coming from Spain.

Flamenco was originated in Andalusia centuries ago (biggest influence were the gypsies that arrived 500-600 years ago). This is a song that tries to somewhat mix some kind of modern pop with flamenco, without much success in my opinion. I wish one year they send a proper flamenco artist/band, but I don't see that happening.

The 5 points are not indicative of the amount of people voted. It just means that her act didn't receive enough 12 point-scores to place higher than those with a lot of 12 point-scores. I personally did not place it high but, I was definitely intrigued. Even clapped along, with the syncopated beat. But not something I would put on my playlist.

For the first time ever in a ESC final I couldn't hold my tears of emotion listening to this wonderful song and performance. Absolutely beautiful to see Blanca Paloma singing this theme with such a talent and joy. Simply unforgettable. It was my winner this year and finished in a very disappointing 17th overall with 100 points, only 5 from the public vote. Shocking to say the least.
This was in every possible way better than everything on eurovision. Perhaps it was too good for this particular contest. Seriously, I'm a music producer and I'm blown away. Her vocals and stage presence is just above everything I've saw on eurovision.

The problem is, the song is not very fun to listen to. While i do get that her voice is practitically flawless, the nasal tone is not very pleasing for the ears.

Personally I don’t like Blancas entrance as, to me personally, others can like it if they want- cus opinions do exist lol- it felt like it was pandering for a tiktok audience, and especially with the polish song that it won against, that being Gladiator by Jann. This is unique, no other country could send this to ESC apart from us. I have the feeling that this song may be ahead of its time. To be honest this type of folklore song is very difficult to understand more distance you are from Spain but still I was hypnotized by her vocals, she was the best singer of the night and it's probably not even close. Such a pure talent. Maybe that BIG5 concept is finally hurting BIG5, not be able to connect with audience more times than once (through semifinals) and also general public may not like the 'privilege' status. Would it be better for Spain not to pay so much money in eurovision general organization and going to semifinals having invested much more money in their best singers and composers as in the 60's and 70's used to do ( with much better result for our country) and as Sweden usually does? I'm sure Rosalía or C.Tangana and our 1st class singers wouln't mind going to eurovision if they are well-paid.

Eaea was definitely one of the most authentic and magical at this year's Eurovision! The televote was a complete robbery as she totally deserved a top 5 placement. I just hope Blanca knows there are many people in world who resonate with her music and in the end of the day, those points don't represent the amount of artistic recognition she deserves.
The scores also don't reflect how many votes she got. It reflects that she had far less 12 point scores than the top 5. But there is no telling how many 10 or 8 point scores she received. Going by the reactions: a lot of people liked her.

@@maemckin I feel bad for that, Eurovsion isn't just a simple show, it has tradition and represents European culture and diversity, which is most times mistreated due to traumas in Colonization. Showing folkroric culture is the best thing one country can do on Eurovision, you're representing your country not imitating America. My personal favourite was Norway, it seemed very powerful yet folkloric and magic! And it represented the country's spirit.

I hope that Spain isn't discouraged by the lack of votes from the jury and public, because they should be proud of Blanca Paloma and this entry! This was my favourite song by far; much intensity, great vocals, fantastic performance, visuals, choreography, hypnotizing electronic drone bass line. All while staying true to Spain's cultural and musical heritage. I looked up the translation of her lyrics, and it really moved me. The last couple of days, this song is constantly on repeat! I’m from spain and I think that we should send some reggaeton. Music in spanish now is bigger than any music, just because of reggaeton. But clearly people that organice this are too old to update.

Portugal won several years ago with Salvador Sobral with a song that maybe could have the same issue. But I think it's good that the results are not always predictable, otherwise the proposals would be very similar.

I disagree, while I love the song now, I remember when watching the finals it annoyed me quite a bit, the chorus was a bit monotonous for my taste at 1st listen - however, now it's the part that I adore the most, it's a grower but the mass of viewers see things for the 1st time when watching Eurovision

That's exactly what the problem is. 95% of the viewers that vote in the Eurovision just vote for the first impression they've got from a performance. They only listen to the songs once and they make a very arguable judgement of the songs. For me this Spanish entry caught my eye right from the beginning and I did listen to all the songs 5 times to make my judgement. General public goes only for first impressions that's why real music is left behind unfortunately.

This is art. I'm Chinese-Australian and don't understand anything about flamenco, but the depth and artistry of her performance completely mesmerised me. Would have voted more times if I knew the result would be this criminal! Blanco Paloma was robbed, and I will never forgive the European public for choosing overproduced pop songs over this cultural masterpiece.
This is not flamenco though, it's far from being flamenco to be honest, it's like a modern song with a tiny bit of flamenco inspiration
The main problem with this song is that it is Arab music, in a language that is not Castillian (aka Spanish). I assume it's Arabic, but I can't confirm. It's good music, but I cannot support it coming from Spain.

Flamenco was originated in Andalusia centuries ago (biggest influence were the gypsies that arrived 500-600 years ago). This is a song that tries to somewhat mix some kind of modern pop with flamenco, without much success in my opinion. I wish one year they send a proper flamenco artist/band, but I don't see that happening.

The 5 points are not indicative of the amount of people voted. It just means that her act didn't receive enough 12 point-scores to place higher than those with a lot of 12 point-scores. I personally did not place it high but, I was definitely intrigued. Even clapped along, with the syncopated beat. But not something I would put on my playlist.

The problem is, the song is not very fun to listen to. While i do get that her voice is practitically flawless, the nasal tone is not very pleasing for the ears.

To be honest this type of folklore song is very difficult to understand more distance you are from Spain but still I was hypnotized by her vocals, she was the best singer of the night and it's probably not even close. Such a pure talent. Maybe that BIG5 concept is finally hurting BIG5, not be able to connect with audience more times than once (through semifinals) and also general public may not like the 'privilege' status. You can't be shallow and understand this performance. People have shown that the majority are, in fact, very shallow. Its a sad realisation, but then again, some aren't really into music for complexity and depth, but all they want to do is turn off their brains and listen to simple crap.

Eaea was definitely one of the most authentic and magical at this year's Eurovision! The televote was a complete robbery as she totally deserved a top 5 placement. I just hope Blanca knows there are many people in world who resonate with her music and in the end of the day, those points don't represent the amount of artistic recognition she deserves.
The scores also don't reflect how many votes she got. It reflects that she had far less 12 point scores than the top 5. But there is no telling how many 10 or 8 point scores she received. Going by the reactions: a lot of people liked her.
I am extremely surprised by the 5 small points from the public for Spain, and the low points that the country had with the jury. Just like us French, you were under-ranked. Congratulations to Blanca for her sublime performance! 🙏

Yes, that's why I thought that Vicco would be a better choice for the public via its selection, but I would have thought that Blanca would have managed to captivate the jury much more, but also the public. @@maemckin I feel bad for that, Eurovsion isn't just a simple show, it has tradition and represents European culture and diversity, which is most times mistreated due to traumas in Colonization. Showing folkroric culture is the best thing one country can do on Eurovision, you're representing your country not imitating America. My personal favourite was Norway, it seemed very powerful yet folkloric and magic! And it represented the country's spirit.

This was my favourite song by far; much intensity, great vocals, fantastic performance, visuals, choreography, hypnotizing electronic drone bass line. All while staying true to Spain's cultural and musical heritage. I looked up the translation of her lyrics, and it really moved me. The last couple of days, this song is constantly on repeat!
