It's an Afrocentric house, kind of like a fraternity. Anything to get these young people to finish college and graduate - if this is what it takes for them to feel supported and succeed, then so be it. What's all the buzz about? When I was in college in Boston in the nineties, we had Jewish fraternities, LGBT housing (mixed sex floors/bathrooms even), Asian themed houses, Islamic houses, etc. All I have to say is, good for them.
Right? I hope they continued this program.
And by that logic, would a white only housing be ok or would that be racist?
The issue with it is it promotes a form of racial trubalism and only furthers the already bad racial divide in the united states. Its undoing years worth of progress towards integration and a doverse society, it promotes the idea fo stick with "your own".

I remember this, there was an option for black students and LGBT students to have their own housing. Ridiculous. I don't actually know anyone who chose to live in the segregated dorms. It was a choice, I suppose that's the silver lining. It was still very weird and vaguely insulting to everyone who had to read it.
As i age i hate everybody.. my choice i earned it..

Yet, now they ask for their own groups in college.
What about the Native American, they want their own housing too and they also want to claim part of Cal State LA as reservation owned land, and then so do the Chinese they want their own too. The Irish feel oppressed and want their own housing too and their own drinking fountain. The Muslims want their own housing, their own temple and their own curriculum. Then the Jews will want their own space. The Southern states will want their own space from the Northerners and then the LGBQT will want their own dorms, and bathrooms, and locker rooms......the list will go on. Wow, how does Cal State plan on doing this. Maybe they should have said that this is like America a melting pot merge like you would into life. This is not kindergarten.
I could never afford to go to Cal State LA I guess only the Privileged get to go there.
