Thank you, Alejandro! Brilliant video. It's good to know people who knows a bit more and deep. Yesterday I made a theme for movie only with BBCSO Core on a laptop and whole orchestra took some 3 GB of RAM, because I switch off all unused articulations. Now after watching your video I'm going to test Synchron Player. It's amazing how much we don't know about tools we have just because no one is reading manuals :)

Thank you for the Ram and CPU saving tips, especially with Kontkat.
I did not know that you could disable patches in Albion One like you showed.
    Very useful.
    Thank you.

Thank you for this video! As I only use Kontakt (and LPX) I stopped watching once you moved on to other plug-ins. I’ve always wondered whether using single instances per patch or loading up a multitimbral array on one instance reduces CPU load. Thanks for showing singles are the way to go (which has always been my approach).
As I’m limited to 16GB RAM I always go the purge samples before commencing work. One thing I’d like to add to your video is that Kontakt remembers what samples were used and, when opening a Logic project again (say, next day’s work session), Kontakt does seem to load in the samples used - without the need to save the Kontakt patch. That’s handy, reducing labour of saving Kontakt patches across a large template.
Also, a big issue for CPU load you seem to have not addressed is the voice count setting; how many notes a patch can play at once. The default value for voices that sample authors set (maybe it’s a default value in the developer software?) is always WAY more than what’s needed. For example, you playing a quick series of notes to show additional samples being loaded showed a voice usage of about 30. Meanwhile, the voice setting is at ONE THOUSAND! While attributes of any given Kontakt library, such as additional mic placements used, legato and release samples etc. do require more voices, no patch I’ve ever used comes anywhere near using the default values! So, playing a sequence for a bit to see how many voices a patch A TUALLY uses, one can reduce the voice setting (doubled-click on the field and enter a value) and this will significantly reduce CPU load.
If I am mot recording live audio, and just entering data via a USB controller, I also max out Logic’s audio buffer value. This, in combination with the above tactics, results in rare overloads and allows me to load in well over 100 tracks of instruments (on a 2013 quad core i7!). Sometimes keyboard pmay via the controller may get laggy. In such cases I simply turn on low latency mode in Logic (easy key command) and all’s well.
As for the convenience of loading multiple instruments in a Kontakt multi patch - but suffering COU spikes as a result - I create a series of tracks in Logic containing all articulations of a particular instrument (say, 1st Violin), create a Track Stack of them all in Logic and save THAT as a performance/patch WITHIN LOGIC ITSELF.
This all results in the smallest possible memory and CPU footprint in an easy to load and go workflow.

Awesome content Alejandro - might be worth explaining the relationship between Sample Rate, Buffer and Latency! Eg I get much lower latency running at 96k @ 128 buffer than I would at the same buffer at a sample rate of 48k...

In Kontact why don’t you just Purge your Samples, and only have the Ram and CPU pull the samples from the notes you actually are going to use instead of some random number? If your not going to play above like C4 I don’t know why you would want the load of carrying those samples when they are not in use. Just Purge and then every note you hit will load 1 at a time(Quickly)

Why is Kontakt so crazy lol. Have you ever tried uninstalling a Kontakt library, you have to go into the registry and remove keys in 3 places, I still can't believe they do not have an uninstall option that fully removes those yet. Nice trick thanks. Switching to Reaper saved me a ton of resources, the install file is only 14mb and it is just as good as any DAW really I like it better because of the customization options and the articulation manager is better because it is 3rd party script and the guy updates it, it is called Reaticulate

I always have to restart my laptop multiple times while recording a song (guitar). After adding 4 5 tracks, the sound starts to flicker and it just disconnects for 10 15 secs then comes back flickering again. I use cubase and have 16 gb RAM, i5 11th gen on my dell laptop. When I checked the memory usage, Cubase only took 882 MB but still there's this sound issue. Not sure if upgrading a RAM will fix this. do you have any suggestions?

so it's better to have something like intel i9 10gen with 10 cores 3,70 Ghz, or intel i5 13gen with only 6 cores 3,50 GHz but another 8 of 2,50 GHZ ?

TIP: When purging samples from Kontakt, to get a smoother first playback, simply play some of the main notes in your piece (like a main melody). Doesn't need to be all of them, but even if you manage to get 40% of the notes pre loaded from purge, you should be okay with playback.

i have a relative newly bought mid-high range setup, with B550 pro, Ryzen 7 5800X 4.7ghz, 40GB 2666mhz DDR4 (it alsso says 10GB virtual R, why idno). with that RTX3060ti , All noctua coolers, /w 5x case fans and dh15 double on CPU. Using 5x2TB SSD for Samples, libraries and all the music related stuff. the other 44TB is less effectie SSD's and SATAs. (for everything else. School n internet n shit.) but i can still sti 3.5 min and wait for a library to load.......... and when done .. when i play it can also sound glitchy and feels like i am trying from a I3 DUAL core sysem with 200MB ram..... This feels restricted to kontakt only issue
