So my honest review for this mix is that it's pretty good. The only thing which i think could be a little bit better, is the bass kicks are a little bit.. idk, less quality? So it just kinda doesn't sound that clean if you know what i mean. But the rest is creamy boy Keep it up
Thanks for the honest words. You're definitely right about the kicks. This is actually a Hardstyle Reverse Bass that I sped up to 200 BPM. To cover up the quality loss of that I had to distort it a bit more, so the low frequencies are obiously lacking a bit. Probably should have layered a bit more to make it more powerful. Wanted to try this out anyway as this kick has a much more emphasized tail than my "usual" kick.
Iirc I sampled a reverse bass for this edit, but usually you just throw a lot of distortion, eqing and compression on a kick/bass. There are some good tutorials out there how to do it in detail. Nowadays I usually just use the plugins from the Mix/Master bundles by Fabfilter, as well as some stuff by Izotope. But you probably don't want to use this edit as a reference anyway, there's much better stuff out there.
