People hating on BMTH for this have actually no idea. They always hated on them for doing something different and advancing the Metal Scene in so many ways. I mean Metalcore, Screams on huge Live Television is incredible, most of the people that saw this probably never even heard a metalscream, and this brought the whole genre into more of a public eye. And if you love Metal, you should kiss the goddamn ground these guys walk on for stuff like this and for always pushing this.
Ed Sheeran has gained a lot of respect from me (not that he needs it loll) because he let BMTH and Oli finish out the song hard and he just supported them even though it's his song, I love this collab and the contrast between the two sounds
I think this is one of the most awesome things to happen this year in metal! A top 3 pop star wanted to MetalCore-fy one of his hit songs AND play it during a mainstream award show. Never thought I would hear screams or breakdowns on a stage like that
For me this song works the same way kingslayer does where oli is more gritty and then ed or babymetal ads a slightly softer tone and it balances it out really well
I don't give 2 seconds to people talking about BMTH going mainstream. What it comes down to is this is a great performance by both BMTH and Ed Sheeran. Ed Sheeran has a massive fan base many of whom probably have never really listened to metal and this might be the heaviest performance they've seen. Maybe some of them will be like "who is BMTH what other music do they have?" BMTH getting mainstream attention is ultimately good for the metal scene. How many years have we been in this scene not wanting to be judged for our "devil music," and now you want to trash talk the ones who are making the positive change? It just doesn't make any sense.
they have been saying it for years, especially when amo came out and then bmth switched back on them and released post human and they loved it and now they are saying they're sell outs again lol
@@binns5302 Right?! These people should realize that bmth will do whatever they want and they will be successfull any way.. regardless what they deem "true" metal or even just good music
Ed Sheeran gets so much hate, and I don't get it. He's PURE music. Watch any live show of his and he brings 150% every single time, just a guy on stage with his guitar completely captivating his audience. Even if you hate pop, Ed's music is true and backed by talent.
As someone who hates pop, 100% agreed. I have some of his songs downloaded. He's just someone you have to be completely miserable to hate. Dude is incredible.
Dude! I also saw Ed on that same show. I was photographing it for a local publication and was waiting backstage for Taylor's set when he came out to grab a smoke. Got to chat with him a little bit about tour and he was such a nice dude. Stoked for his success.
Honestly, bmth are all so badass. Matt Nichols is insane and Jordan is so fucking creative and talented. I'm also really glad that Oli got better at performing live
Bad Omens just makes okay metalcore nothing special tbh . I saw them live without knowing who they were they put on a good show I guess and the crowd loved them but it was just too predictable and monotonous for me and they don’t do anything really different that other bands weren’t doing for the past like 10 years
Was worth the wait! Had a feeling u would resonate with this collaboration! Ed and Oli are both so talented in diffefent ways but it makes it so special when it works. Whole show was spectacular, even when we are watching this trough screen, it feels like that we are there live. Dope, dope collab. And reaction!!
Thanks for what you said about people going "Oh, they're selling out and all that stuff". Like, why/how does that matter? Either I like their music or not, why the hell would I care about anything else? If artists wanna experiment and try different things, great! If it's not to my taste then I don't have to listen to it
I love this version so much more than Eds original. And thats super cool you and fishman are mates, its always awesome to see musicians connect. Will also say, sayin Jordan is very talented is an understatement. The man literally revived BMTH and made them amazing. Super keen to see the BMTH boys and deftones in december.
This is *so* much more fun than the sterile radio single! I love that Sheeran & the BMTH lads took the time to fully rework the song into a new thing. Given that Ed's last tour was the biggest gro$$ing *ever* ,& thus his grandkids' grandkids don't have to worry about money, maybe (hopefully) he'll indulge his fondness for the heavier stuff by doing a mixtape-y collab thing with an array of rock & metal bands along similar lines to those which he's already done with HipHop artists. Actually, speaking of that, I'd love to know your thoughts on the song "Blow" that he did with Chris Stapleton & Bruno Mars. I'll just say that they did not come up with what I expected those 3 in a room to come up with.... & the initial vocal *is* Ed!! o_O ;) p.s. the Brits don't normally have quality interesting moments like this, so I wouldn't waste your time going tbh! LOL
Oli is bringing screamo mainstream. We all have a band who opens the door to more hardcore metal for us, mine was linkin park. Oli and Bring me didn’t sell out. They moved upwards and onward. I’ve loved them since the beginning and I love that they do what they feel and don’t care what people think. They can jump genres and they are incredible no matter what music they make. Some people just don’t appreciate growth from bands. Oli has come so far and he loves to SING. Keyword is sing. And his voice is pure gold.
Not the first to say it, and probably won't be the last. Definitely check out the new album by Bad Omens. I know you're a big BMTH fan David, Bad Omens is working in a similar music space/genre as BMTH. I know you'd love it.
You really should see Sum41 ft Mike Shinoda - Faint cover. Also Sum41 have a lot of songs that are overlooked because of songs like Fatlip being too known
You should definitly check out Blind Channels new song 'Bad Idea'. They are touring the US at the moment with From Ashes To New and today they announced a headline concert in Manhattan. On 8th July their 4th album will be released. 🖤
Very award winning performance. I heard about this on SiriusXM Octane from an interview with Jordan. Immediately came to watch it and this is amazing! Definitely worth an award in its self, and I hope they do a studio production of this song!
wow there's a lot of comment saying you should check out Bad Omens, and i think you should check it cus the vocalist (Noah Sebastian) has an amazing voice!
Came here to say you should check out Bad Omens but it looks like I'm late to the game! Noah is quite possibly the best vocalist in this genre right now. Not only is he amazing on their tracks, but he's arguably even better live
If you enjoy that chord you played at the beginning of the video David, I think you'll like I Can't Breathe by Dead By April. They're a swedish metalcore band and I'm almost certain they used that chord in the beginning of the song.
You should Deffo checkout the new bring me the horizon and Sigrid record. I think you’d enjoy the melodic structure and piano work, simple but very affective.
i absolutely adore your reactions! (: i was wondering if you could check out some music from the band Motionless In White sometime? they just released a new song titled "Cyberhex", but i think you should start with their previous works in order to get a better sense/understanding of the band's sound. i suggest reacting to "Another Life" and "Eternally Yours" first. thanks again for creating such awesome reaction videos, my man!
could you react to mayflower - save me? it got uploaded on dreambound and i think it is the bands first song. Would love to see your reaction on it cause i think it is fire

I haven’t seen Ed Sheeran live yet, I’d love to. Really looking forward to Bonnaroo this year! Great lineup. This video makes me school-girl-giddy for live music! Thank you! You’re awesome.

Dude! As one of my favourite RUclips music reactors, could I possibly turn your head to a bit of Bloodywood? Indian folk metal band who have recently just released an independent album called Rakshak (meaning protector/guardian in Hindi). Its a combination of Indian folk instruments and metal which works really well, songs are written in swing to accommodate the dhol (drum), there is always a message with their music, from politics to sexual abuse to coping with depression or the loss of a pet. We need the Ed Sheeran Death metal record now lolol
With Dani filth
Last part gave me mad Linkin Park vibes in a good way. Like from their earlier albums like Meteora of Hybrid Theory.
Bad Omens are killing it with their new album release. I’d love it if you guys checked them out!!
Definitely a banger album
Isnt it kind of monotonous?

Yesss idwt$ is possibly my fave on the album
@@terogates1 Love that track, my personal favourite kinda comes down to a draw between the death of piece of mind and just pretend.
for me it's take me first or just pretend but that's also a sick track
The transition from Just Pretend to The Grey is amazing, just like both of the songs
Nowhere To Go is also a pure banger, it's gonna be so fun live
