    Last night I stumbled on your RUclips channel. With great video shots, cool music & your driving style I think this is definitely one of the best car review channels.

    Brian,
    Took delivery a week ago and have to say, the car is fantastic! Understated (in black), real world fast and practical. Keep up the good work

    • @BrianMakse
      @BrianMakse  10 лет назад +1

      Brilliant! Well done! Looking forward to hearing your thoughts after living with it. I drove one locally recently and thoroughly enjoyed the throttle but ended I getting supercar-like fuel consumption. Otherwise, still the best performance car in the category!

      @yeldarbrellef 10 лет назад +2

      How did you find the Polestar? Did you purchase in the US? What will I end up paying for a Polestar if I get lucky enough to find one? Bad Ass car. I want one!

    • @peterellingworth745
      @peterellingworth745 10 лет назад +1

      yeldarbrellef Sorry for the delay, been away. Based in the UK. I placed an order after reading a couple of British magazine reviews. Priced at just under £50,000 here. Not too bad compared to a well kitted S4 Avant and a lot less common. Great every day car, plus you have to know your cars to realise what it is, also sounds fantastic.

    • @trevormacdougall9385
      @trevormacdougall9385 10 лет назад

      Husky XPG Congrats, and nice to hear. I'm seriously considering one of these. What are your thoughts now? Are you in Canada? Thanks, Trevor.

    • @peterellingworth745
      @peterellingworth745 10 лет назад +1

      Trevor Macdougall Trevor, in the UK.
      Had the car for three months now and pleased to say I'm very happy with the car.
      Performance is plentiful for real world driving, no lag and plenty of traction. Given UK weather, the car is far more trustworthy than a C63 or M3 and relaxing to throw around.
      Downsides? I will get the Ohlins softened a bit as backroads over hear can be fairly poor. Gearbox can be a bit slow if you use the paddles for downshifting, tend to use the stick, sequential style. Fuel economy is reasonable at 24/gallon every day and 18/20 if you regularly drive hard. Seats are great and equipment levels all you need.
      If you want the fast car that is a bit different, then this is a great car, snap one up while you still can!

    • @BrianMakse
      @BrianMakse  10 лет назад +1

      Thanks for watching and subscribing! Interesting cross-shop. The Polestar is going to have a massive performance edge, in every way except fuel consumption, over the A6. Let me know which way you go and what influenced your decision. Always curious.

    • @johan21678
      @johan21678 10 лет назад

      Yeah, that is odd. S60/V60 is in a smaller class then A6. They compete with Audi S4, BMW 335, Merc C350 etc

    Hoping this is a precursor to a production version of the 500+ bhp Polestar Volvo has been working on with Polestar. If it's anything like the production Polestar and comes in at under $70,000 it could be a hit. I have a 2012 S60 R-Design and would trade up ASAP if something like that came about.

    • @BrianMakse
      @BrianMakse  10 лет назад +1

      Thanks for watching! I've been trying to get a straight answer on that for a while. My guess is that Volvo Canada was playing the market a little. When I do know, I'll be sure to let you know.

    • @Shazbotian
      @Shazbotian 10 лет назад +1

      I've heard only 12 of each type, S60 and V60. Pretty rare car. I'd be curious to know if they plan something similar next year with a larger run.

    • @BrianMakse
      @BrianMakse  10 лет назад +1

      Originally I heard it was 100+ all black, but that number seems to have disappeared. I think you're right, it's probably a test of the market.

      Brian Makse Great review, Brian. Best I've seen from a Canadian journalist. Is it true that the Rebel Blue model won't be coming here to Canada? Only Black. That's too bad. Love the blue color

  • @5thGenMaxi

    I was lucky enough to go for a ride in one of these. I have never been in a vehicle quite like this, it puts all the power down so well, the launch control just plants you dead in your seat, and it turns like its on rails. One of the the most fun cars I've ever been in.

    • @BrianMakse
      @BrianMakse  10 лет назад +1

      Imagine driving one! We're finally testing one on home soil and I'm curious to see how it fares here versus my drive in Sweden.

    • @trevormacdougall9385
      @trevormacdougall9385 10 лет назад

      Thanks Brian. I'm driving a 328xi and its great. But could use a little more space and don't want to give up the driving dynamics. Also, don't really want an SUV. What are your thoughts on the PoleStar as a solution?

    • @BrianMakse
      @BrianMakse  10 лет назад

      Trevor Macdougall That's a fantastic idea. In fact, if I wasn't reviewing cars - I have secure space for one car here which kills any idea of having something fun at home - the V60 Polestar is on my very short list of new cars that I'd buy. It works for me in every way, and it's far more special than any factory-tuned car coming out of Germany today.

    • @BrianMakse
      @BrianMakse  10 лет назад +2

      That's Ring Knutstorp in southern Sweden. It's a remarkably fun circuit for such a tiny footprint. I managed to record a full lap of the place when I was there in 2013: ruclips.net/video/0SctCdQXm10/видео.html

      It'll sit next to my V70R AWD 2.3 of 1997 vintage.
      Easiest car purchase ever made, only option being the colour.
      Great review, keep up the good work.

      Brian Makse Thanks, I found out they only brought 80 cars to the US, Which I find ridiculous, Should be at least 200 or 300 hundred to give it a real chance of seeing how well it does here. Plus it Will Unfairly Drive The Price up Way Past MSRP Because of the Extremely Limited Number of Cars Available Not to Mention it being hard to find one

    • @v60polestar88
      @v60polestar88 8 лет назад +1

      For 2016 they imported 246 to the states and the same for 2017. Even at that number these cars are extremely rare. I own a 2016 and have never seen another one on the road.
