Ben is an an excellent player and skater at his age group. Certainly, one of the top defensemen in Saskatchewan. Much of what you are alluding to has to do with a combination of a couple of factors. 1) The skill sequence is very difficult, creating an uncomfortable level of performance. 2) He is a 6' tall 14 year old, which presents its own fair share of issues - including strength imbalances and alike. If you assess him amongst his peers - he is top end quality. His projection is bright
I have looked everywhere for a Video that shows these defensive moves that are so essential. At 6' Tall there are so many issues from the rapid Growth. Im sure he will be amazing as he is already doing very tough drills well. Thanks Guys
D; Great sequence of skills. I think that coaches teach skill clusters or individual tactics whereby players apply their technical skills in groups - while thinking - is the next "innovation" we will hear about in hockey. Glad to see you are leading the charge! I notice this player's developing skill set and note some skating deficit, that is he is a bit forward on his feet. I think this may be attributed to low(er) leg strength. What do you think?
