That first discussion about the roles really comes down to the fact that unite is beginner friendly. Among the attacker role there are bare minimum 2 different roles. Among all-rounders some things feel more like a speedster (lucario, ceruledge, mimikyu) and some even feel more like a defender (metagross). The game just lacks well defined roles.
Honestly some just feel like they were forced to be a different version of themselves. Mimikyu has a dash on both of his movesets but only shadow claw looks for brawl of an all-rounder. Play rough was the burst move before it had to be nerfed.
When the game first came out, I thought they'd eventually make a few role specific items to give meaning to them, but how they ended up it's basically just an extended tooltip so you know what to expect from a mon with no impact on gameplay at all
Honestly have no clue on what items to use for this mon. I've been using razor bangle and float for bitter blade phantom force. But stacking with pysco cut could also be good but I don't like stacking. And it feels squishy sometimes, to where weakness feels like it doesn't matter in most fights.
As someone who never player League or other 5v5s idk how other games do it, but with bad/toxic teammates i would be ok with it if the other team also had them, namely separating soloqs from stacks . And the game would be so much less tense and more fun this way.

U should double stack with bitter blade cuz he has life steal on all moves hes pretty fragile for a all rounder
I honestly treat him like an attacker, you should just go for high damage items like muscle band
I really like Muscle Band and Rapid Fire Scarf on it....not sure what the 3rd item could should be yet.
