The thing about Jarvan's knock is, if his Q animation connects to the pole AFTER Alistar Q/W, Jarvan will still pull towards and knock up. There is no priority on this. It's just a matter of timing it right when the J4 Q has connected.
Glacial is much more aggresive, good for lanes which you need more burst dmg and they can't avoid the slow with dashes. Aftershock is a much more frontline rune, if you need to survive longer in skirmishes to get another combo off. Also decent in lanes where you don't need extra dmg
It’s a timing thing mate, so head into practice tool and spawn a dummy and practice the timing. You have to buffer the q while your mid flight Edit: the timing changes depending on how far away you are to the enemy
I have a few things that I like, electrocute has been a big favorite, goes great with ap or tank. Protobelt, everfrost or harvester. Recently I've been loving predator with chemtank 😈
I have it on Smart cast with range indicator, it's almost the same thing but I release the key to use W. I can hold it down to see the range. I just prefer this option for all my abilities on all champs.
Focus on keeping your HP up early, if you play too aggresive lvl 1 without killing them you will hard lose the lane. Trading flashes is really powerful because you have hexflash and they don't so you can abuse bushes. Remember to not take small HP trades it'll usually be better for them as they have lower CD's. If they push you under tower and you have flash you can bait them to throw spells at you and flash Q W them into your tower. If you do it right they will usually lose the lane instantly from that point. Other than that just focus on rushing Tier 2 Boots and roaming. You don't win that lane hard unless jungle ganks or the enemy misplays (Which they will in 99% of Elos) but you are much stronger at roaming than them. Also take 2 MR runes + build null-magic mantle early.
Yeah they aren't meant to be super specific, the biggest thing I notice when coaching below master tier is players not using their abilities in really simple ways efficiently. I used footage of me using my abilities in situations properly and that's the first step to actually mastering a champion!

Think Alistar W as better Lee sin ult and you win will
Could you explain why you have w not on smart cast?
I have it on Smart cast with range indicator, it's almost the same thing but I release the key to use W. I can hold it down to see the range. I just prefer this option for all my abilities on all champs.
We were chasing someone for the ace and i pressed w but didn‘t have enough mana for the q so I just pushed him through a wall and he escaped😂
