For patties you stay clear of Mother’s. You either get tastee, juici or if you wanna go overboard you go to the Devon House bakery they’re pretty expensive compared to the others

I love Kingston! It is a very underrated city! Also go to the Cafe Blue in Manor Park. The best neighborhoods in Jamaica are near there. Places like Norbrook and Cherry Gardens are nearby.
Im in Jamaica now. Wll be taking back a lot of sour sop to Canada. It is sooo expensive in Canada. Heading to Kinston today. Started my day with water, green tea and will drink some soursop before leaving out. I will leave the food until I get to Kinston. I will go to Devon house for patties, they are absolutely delicious. Some people will say they don't see much vegan restaurant. Just remember Ital food made by Rastas is the original 'vegan". There are lots of ital food around.Rastas have been eating like this before the word vegan was invented. I will say to the owners of Ital restaurants DO NOT change the name of your restaurant to vegan. Just let people know Ital is the original 'vegan'.
I do not do this often, but I’m recommending that you try the soursop. Soursop is a superfood that rich in many nutrients including antioxidants. It does have an acquired taste so I’d start with the juice. 😉
Wow Half Way Tree has Changed!! I remember going there on the bus with my dad and mom , The clock there in Half Way Tree is a monument replacing an old Tree, my dad said they always say meet by the Tree half way hence the nsme Half way tree so they built a clock to replace the tree You are Uptown!!

Honestly man everything was 100% fresh it tasted like pure health idn how else to describe it… each of the sauces also tasted extremely well and i hate sauce on my food lol. I felt like a had a hint of wasabi but im not sure lol you can look this place up and see other people eat this burger they give it a better review lol

You see how mountainous the place is, it’s not super easy to get around, depending on your socioeconomic status, most people are limited to where they are born or where they live or grow up? I’m from the north coast where I was born, near Ocho Rios, Dunn’s River Falls. Back in my day Kingston was a place we went to to buy our school uniforms for example maybe visit family. One of your comments really struck me around you telling your followers to “come to the real Jamaica” some may argue like me who grew up on the north coast or my friends who grew up in the mountains may also claim that is the real Jamaica. Kingston is a city where many leave rural areas either to go and find jobs to start their businesses or hustle. The rastas offer the best food for vegetarians. Its called Ital food all natural. When you're downtown you should go down to the harbour n see the murals on the walls there. There are restaurants there too. Halfway Tree is called uptown.

Island Grill is a good place to eat, where you can get a variety of Jamaican foods cooked fresh daily. Saw your Portland catch and cook video great catch. Next time ask the chef to debone the fish for you or just lift of the upper half of fish and take out the middle bone and eat the white meat. That style of fish is called brown stew fish not boiled fish. Also, while in Kingston check out the Waterfront downtown. Duke Street and Princess Street, etc., is another area downtown away from the Market that is very nice. Look at the area near the ROC hotel that will give you an idea. The best place for porridge is Deliworks in Cafe Blue in Sovereign Liguanea Kingston. Also General Foods grocery in Liguanea Plaza has great porridge on Sundays. These places have other great breakfast and other meals also.

Good description to compare it with cinnamon-raising bread. Rasing bread is very nice toasted then butter in the middle. Yummy! Bun and cheese are mostly eaten during Easter. It is a symbol of Easter in Jamaica. However, the ones for easter are specially made. The homemade ones are the best. In London here, hot crust buns are used as a symbol for easter. When i lived in jamaica in the 80s that street where ibos restaurant is located...orange street ...was such a busy bustling businrss area with all those buildings buzzing with different type of businesses.....in the 90s a lot of the entrepeneurs all over downtown got scared due to violence that they either relocated to the uptown area or went out of business...its actually on its way back now ...theres been a revival of sorts all over downtown because of the reduction in violence ...it looks much better than it looked in the early to mid 2000s
When you are back in the US will you get some of the frozen Jamaican patties and do a comparison video how they vary from the real thing? I've bought a couple different flavors, one wasn't bad.
Hey Po I wished you had visited the Art Walk on Water Lane and its environs Down Town. The Art work were done by local artists and as a creative yourself I know you would love and appreciate. I'm a born and bred Jamaican and I feel perfectly safe Down Town. I wouldn't be naïve and say there isn't any crime but dangerous crimes is more concentrated in a few areas and of course there are pick pockets etc just be vigilant and smart. Maybe I'll spot you Down Town on one of my lunch breaks lol, have fun!

Yeah, spice bun is the watered down version of the Bun with raisins and spices and is purposely made with less calories and less bells and whistles.

Patties and the bread aren't make freshly at fast food restaurants daily😂😅they are made in a factory then delivered there then preheated

The best place for porridge is Deliworks in Cafe Blue in Sovereign Liguanea Kingston. Also General Foods grocery in Liguanea Plaza has great porridge on Sundays. These places have other great breakfast and other meals also.

Jamaica is so safe…Kingston is fine… foreign governments don’t like when tourist go off the beaten track and choose to explore real places and spend their hard earned money in real places…which is what more people are doing…they want you to go to places they approve of… which isn’t where people of colour are….I’m an off the beaten track person…. Love Jamaica 🇯🇲 bad… loved Mexico 🇲🇽 loved Cuba… want to do Costa Rico 🥳 and Panama 🇵🇦 the Caribbean spice islands …Kingston is fine…. Everywhere has its good and bad side including the USA….I feel safer in Jamaica 🇯🇲 than in the US….A MUST in life is to have a bucket list and aim to achieve it…. Good description to compare it with cinnamon-raising bread. Rasing bread is very nice toasted then butter in the middle. Yummy! Bun and cheese are mostly eaten during Easter. It is a symbol of Easter in Jamaica. However, the ones for easter are specially made. The homemade ones are the best. In London here, hot crust buns are used as a symbol for easter. So, obviously, buns are a symbol of easter. Comments from London!!

When i lived in jamaica in the 80s that street where ibos restaurant is located...orange street ...was such a busy bustling businrss area with all those buildings buzzing with different type of businesses.....in the 90s a lot of the entrepeneurs all over downtown got scared due to violence that they either relocated to the uptown area or went out of business...its actually on its way back now ...theres been a revival of sorts all over downtown because of the reduction in violence ...it looks much better than it looked in the early to mid 2000s

Hey Po I wished you had visited the Art Walk on Water Lane and its environs Down Town. The Art work were done by local artists and as a creative yourself I know you would love and appreciate. I'm a born and bred Jamaican and I feel perfectly safe Down Town. I wouldn't be naïve and say there isn't any crime but dangerous crimes is more concentrated in a few areas and of course there are pick pockets etc just be vigilant and smart. Maybe I'll spot you Down Town on one of my lunch breaks lol, have fun!
