Now that's a sweet mod! That sure did fix that flopping cable issue. Not sure why, but I find watching you work and figure things out as you go, mesmerizing and interesting! Glad I found your channel months ago.
Stainless steel fasteners do something called 'work hardening'. Dull bits, high speed, and high heat from friction all contribute, and it essentially case hardens whatever you're drilling. Sharp bits, high pressure, low RPM all help prevent work hardening. The cutting lubricant (almost any light oil will work) serves several purposes. It reduces friction and conducts heat away from the cutting surface. It's also a temperature indicator: if it gets hot enough to smoke, stop and add another drop. This lets the bit and the work cool down, reducing the hardening effect.
What's vapor honing? Is this a business you operate? As for getting hold of me, I think I need to have an email address in my "about" section for that. I will look into that. Problem would be spam though, once that address is published, every Nigerian Prince with a million dollars to give away will be sending me those tempting invites.
Just enjoying your channel and thought id let you show off my service. We do engine builds for customers and this finishing process really makes that new resto project look like a million bucks.
@@challenger2ultralightadventure I have 2 Challengers and am on the group on Facebook as well. But oh well. Enjoy the rebuild. Wish there was a way incould show you our work. Hate to see that engine go back together not looking like a new one. Ita the most overlooked thing insee resto guus do in vintage rebuild of bikes and cars.
Kit price of the floats? For that you will have to go to the manufacturer, Puddle Jumper. They are located in the province of Quebec Canada. As for the modifications I made to the cable systems, it's not a kit. It's item I put together myself to accomplish this. Cheers.
Always enjoys these Peter. Cheers.
Thanks! Much appreciated. Cheers, and Happy New Year.

Thanks 👍
That does look much neater, much safer. Well done.
I hope others who watch this, and have floats can follow this example for this cheap and effective modification.
Nice upgrade Peter, I will have to this upgrade on mine as well. Thanks again and keep the upgrades coming.
Thanks, will do!
Puddle jumper? One thing comes to my mind:
"Previously, on Stargate Atlantis..." :)
I never thought of that. That's funny.
