I can understand that many people don't like Yoko's contributions to his albums, but I gotta say I quite like her songs on the Milk and Honey album. I think they would stand on their own.
@thebeatles4ever3 amazing!!!! the songs are simplified so that johns voice is clear and pure and when you combine that with good quality remastered sound your head explodes with awsomeness!!!!!!!! o and it comes with the original double fantasy remaster which is friggen awsome to!!!!
@martinblank83 As far as limiting (compression) goes that was the whole point of my posts here..."Double Fantasy" was done by a different team from the other remasters here, and it is more limited (compressed if you prefer) and louder too...unfortunately. The team that did The Beatles remasters in 2009 did all the other ones- they didn't use any limiting on the Mono Box, and minimal limiting on the Stereo Box, so if you liked those, you'll probably like these- save for "Double Fantasy"...
@martinblank83 Well the point of remastering them again is that they were remixed in 2000 as well as remastered (all except "Double Fantasy" & "Milk And Honey"), and in some cases quite radically remixed (for better and/or worse). The original mixes that Lennon approved have never been remastered since the initial CD technology...not unlike the situation with The Beatles catalog in 2009.
Specifically folks want to know if the same team who remastered all the other CDs in the Signature Box Set also remastered the "Double Fantasy" CD in the Signature Box Set? Right now it appears that you can't buy the stand alone, single CD, original artwork "Double Fantasy" CD on it's own- only in the Signature Box...the only stand alone choice is to buy "Double Fantasy Stripped Down" (which I'm getting anyway)- 2 CD set priced at 1 CD price, but no original artwork & remastering issues?
@martinblank83 As I said I think "Double Fantasy Stripped Down" is even closer to The Beatles "Love", but it does carry elements of "Let It Be...Naked" too (& still different than either). "Love" was a total remix, as well as a mash-up, but it was different than the original intention (loved it BTW). "Let It Be...Naked" while containing edits, etc. was still closer to the original intention than the Spector production, and I happen to think that that album is as brilliant as it is beautiful!!
@martinblank83 I see your point too...I think it was an odd choice, and sadly may have been ultimately a marketing choice- and a weird one. It's certainly far from my first choice of what I'd like to see if we have a space to release Lennon material (how about the long awaited "Anthology II"!), but if it actually sounds good/interesting (which it does) then it's ultimately OK by me. As far as "Let It Be" goes, I like some of what Spector did & use a mix from both albums to create my own version
@martinblank83 I have mixed feelings about "Double Fantasy Stripped Down"- mainly because it takes up release space that could have been used to release more unreleased material (though Yoko just spoke last month about trying to decide how to present more of his finished song unreleased demos- lots of these great songs are here on youtube BTW). But on the plus side the approach has made for some interesting listening...maybe more like The Beatles "LOVE" that "Let It Be...Naked"
@thebeatles4ever3 ye im going to order all of them but i dont have enough money atm. so im just going order my favourites first :) and i agree those 2 albums are amazing. i was struggling about which album to order, mind games or sometime in newyork
@thebeatles4ever3 i thought it would be posted today but it wasnt :( maybe tomorrow and ive ordered imagine aswell! another amazing album. next im ordering double fantasy and sometime in new york city :D
@thebeatles4ever3 im getting mind games next, i baught double fantasy and sometime in newyork first because the songs that he done i really like and i wanted to see what the stripped down version was like and it is amazing! pure john lennon voice... but yes, yoko does ruin the albums
@rosswood0602 aww that sucks!! i was hoping u were gonna say they took yoko songs out and just kept johns!!!! i have nothin against yoko as a wife to john, but i dont think she ever should have started singin
One last question...Who did "Milk And Honey" then? The same team as "Double Fantasy" or the team that did all the other ones? Odd that they'd split up the 1980 material!! This is a HUGE screw up by the way!! I've already heard reports that there are different volumes for the tracks on the "Power To The People: The Hits" and "Gimme Some Truth" Box Sets, and folks making personal CD-R mix CDs will find this out as well. Very sad.
@rosswood0602 i would have gone with minds games, sometime in new york is a good album but it has yoko in it, and im not one of those ppl who hate yoko and say ohh john could have done so much better, no if he loved thats fine but i think she should have just been his wife and i think she should have stuck with art work, not singing i dont think she is the best singer

Where did you get that ? Excellent!
Are their booklets inside the individual CDs,- like The Beatles remasters from 2009?
