Trying Rust-Oleum Imagine Color Shifting Paint - when I saw a display of Rust-oleum Craft paints I knew I was going to have to try the color shifting paint. I’m so glad I did!

You did a wonderful job, I love restoring old dressers, furniture, vehicles and things like that. I always tend to gravitate towards rattle can rather than using my HVLP sprayer just for convenience purposes. I had heard of this color shift paint and was kind of curious. It actually looks quite amazing. That turned out great. Definitely going to purchase some after watching your video. Thank you for your demonstration on it. I was mildly skeptical. Great job 👍🏼👍🏼
Thanks for the nice compliment. The paint is incredible. People in my area are so conservative that ai still have the table but I love it! I did a chair with the same paint and that sold though. It’s easy to use and really great when you see it in person. I picked up the red on to try so that will be coming!
It’s beautiful 💙 I watch another painter mix using clay based paints and spray paints together, and her pieces are gorgeous too. I think I might buy myself a can of this, and use on a dresser that I’m painting with clay chalk paint, in the colors turquoise , purple and what they are calling cherry picked . I bet this stuff would give it a splash. TFS😊😊

@@JunkinwithStacy let me see it if you do!!! My boys have the how to train a dragon window curtains. It has both toothless and light fury. One is more green so I thought of doing the green copper one on the side of the wall and light fury has more blue so I'd do the blue one on her side. 🤯

Rust-Oleum sells a black spray that's specifically made to use with their Imagine color shift line. It also says "Imagine" on the can, as well as "Black base". However, I don't think it really matters all that much which black you use, as long as it's chemically compatible, as their recommended black obviously would or should be. And it's certainly cheap enough pricewise, so why not buy it from them. You can find both the Rust-Oleum Imagine black base coat and the Imagine color shift paints for under $10.00 each.
They do make a base. I created this during the 100 project challenge when I said I wouldn’t buy anymore products until I used up what I had. Any black works great but I’m sure the imagine product is wonderful. Rust-O-leum really makes fantastic paint.
I dont care for it. I would be interested to see how many offers you get on it. I dont like the fact the spindles are brown.

I started laughing when she said maybe you're not seeing the purple it's a pain in the ass trying to see and show both colors well would need to be in a perfect spot where light and shade is mixed with the perfect turn and camera angle I think because it's not designed to just be flipped and looked at it's designed to go by and have the light shined at it from the Sun and as it goes by the angle of light that's hitting it changes and that's when you see it not by flipping it around in your hand but I'm not sure I'm new to this just know that it's a pain to see both colors when you're trying to show somebody standing inside the house or something

Is the black primer supposed to be a gloss or does it matter? Great video!
Hi Elizabeth! I used a matte chalk paint so it doesn’t matter. If you used a gloss I would scuff the surface before painting the color shifting paint to make sure it sticks. Good luck!

I got it at Menards but it was in their crafts section not the paint isle.
you'll definitely find it in an Auto Paints shop because they use these a lot. And they have many colour varieties.
