I love listening to Jack tell a story. It doesn't matter what the story is or if the story has any merit or not, Jack tells it so well it just doesn't matter. He was such a delight to listen to. We miss you Jack, but your legacy will outlive us all.

God bless Dick Cavett! During the many iterations of his talk shows, he interviewed those that were at the apex of their professions. Painters, writers, actors, musicians, directors...a cornucopia of creative people. His knowledge and interviewing style were unmatched on network TV. Here on RUclips, viewers can see an historical parade of intellectual conversations and talented artists. Thanks a million, Dick!

Jack told a story on Carson's show about visiting Edmond Gwenn at a nursing home when he was in palliative care. He knew how much discomfort Mr. Gwenn was in and said so. Mr. Gwenn said "yes, dying is hard, but not as hard as acting in a comedy". He had just finished saying this and then died right then and there. Heard that story once 40 years ago and just the way Jack told it made it unforgettable.

He's absolutely right , some people are are really good at casting ; Anthony Hopkins couldn't believe they wanted him to play Richard Nixon but Oliver Stone could see it.

Jack's son Chris looks so much like his dad! I believe he has a small part as Jack in the Netflix film about Marilyn Monroe, titled "Blonde".

do have nothing against the other celebs that were on this show but is this channel ever going to show the Dick Cavett shows where he interviews Jackie Gleason or Art Carney? How about any Honeymooners actors that were part of the main cast? These are rarities much like all the other Dick Cavett shows.

Unfortunately, someone imagined Robert Walker playing Jack Lemmon playing Ensign Pulver.
