Respond to this comment with specific needs and need locations. A corporation contacted me wanting to organize a response. Not sure of the scale of the aid they can put together although others can use this information as well tomorrow help out.
I have been working through Biltmore Church, but many other churches & people need volunteers badly-
As of 10/12 Calvary Chapel of Asheville needs volunteers- (they have supplies).
Fast Fred Ruddock (on RUclips) needs storage desperately. He lost his home.
Benghazi Rabbit (on RUclips) needs volunteers with and without chainsaws. Details on his channel. 200 Ethan Allen Dr, Spruce Pine, NC.

I don't think people realize how bad this is. It's literally changed property lines, because they don't exist anymore. It's changed towns, completely wiping them out in some locations. Sad that local republican and democrat elected leaders, who know best, said partisan conspiracy rumors were hurting rescue efforts. PS I've looked at many videos from those there. Of course help can't get to every person fast enough. Of course some bad instances. One sheriff got in the way. An army helicopter accidently flew close to supplies and a report is being made. But other rumors were contradicted. Musk thanked Buttigieg for correcting his confusion between FAA and FEMA. And several rumors were nonsense like the government made the hurricane (they are natural but the unnaturally heated Gulf of Mexico makes them worse). America is great when we work together. Thanks.

One day we may find ourselves in an emergency situation such as is the case in your area and my vehicle and experience will pay off as yours has for you.
We have snow to contend with here in the Western PA area, too, so I'm running 3 peak Mickey Thompson Baja Boss tires. This is just so sad to see this much destruction and you know there is also people who lost their lives and may never be found. I grew up on roads like this, one lane roads with two way traffic. It would be nice if you told where you were on some of the video so we could look at Google maps to really see the destruction. How it looked before versus now. It is so easy to tell looking at intestate 40 as parts of it are missing. It is somewhat more difficult on the roads you were on as parts of it resembled logging roads. I know it's not it just what it reminds me of. It also looked like you needed 4 wheel drive in some of these locations and it may have been helpful to let your viewers know when that was necessary. I have a steep driveway and when it has rained and I back up it I need to be in 4 wheel drive. Thank you for your video. I used to live up above Flat Creek, up behind Nesbitt's Chapel. Seeing you come up Garren Creek was shocking. It was the road I used during blizzards for safety: other than that one steep curve I could make it up from 74 pretty easily.
Seeing you drive all that way just to get to Craigstown. . .
Once you passed the firehouse my jaw was just hanging open.
If people don't know, this is the. . . Was the. . .
    (Pauses in shock)
. . . This area was positively bucolic. Just peaceful and radiated serenity from every meadow and gentle rolling hill. So sunny and calm. It really only got windy up on our ridge (and other ridges) as the wind fought to crest the mountain and up over route 9.
That creek. . . Was basically a running drainage ditch on the side of the road. You would rarely even notice it at all much less EVER IMAGINE it could possibly do such damage.
Up on the road on Flat Creeki dates a fella that had incorporated the creek to split into two teeny tiny streams, because he had built a long rectangular pool and the water flowed in on one side and out the other, then regained it's original creek. He had dug it out so it would do that to fill and keep the "pool" so it was fresh water and the dogs could jump in and cool off but it was so icy cold.
It was up a driveway east of Flat Creek, utterly out of view of the road so skinny-dipping was an absolute option at all times. I kept looking for the big rock and gate at the bottom of his driveway but. . . Couldn't see a thing in all that wreckage.
I knew so many people in the area. My friends horse pasture. Couldn't see it. The guy I bought hay bales from. My neighbor I helped lay down the tile floor. The other neighbors I helped build a deck.
    It's unrecognizable.
I could drive my grandpa's old station wagon up and down that whole area no problem. But now it's. . .
Copperheads used to slither out on the pavement to sun themselves mid day and heat up and you can't even see the pavement, as it clearly doesn't even exist in so many places.
    This was so shocking.

They answer phones starting at 8 most days. Volunteers have been arriving at 9. Unfortunately I do not have a point of contact for someone running crews on a regular basis. Check out Biltmore Church on Instagram or Facebook. They post schedules when they’re doing pick ups. Basically you can load up and go. They may have ideas of where you can go or groups that you possibly can join. It really depends on the day and it changes all the time. Calling may be an option, but I wouldn’t guarantee that you’re going get a live person or a message returned. At the main campus in Arden they have all resources in the distribution and supply area at the front end of the supply lanes are several tents with people & computers and that’s where most of the information and decisions pass through. It may seem scattered, but that is the order of the day. Responding to chaos is a huge job and Biltmore is a great example of an origination getting it done. Let some of tire pressure out of all tires even the tires on the trailer. How much depends on the tires and the weight. But allowing the tires to flex over some of those rough spots will help prevent a pinch flat. Not sure what you are running on your jeep but if you have off road tires like 30-35s you can run about 20lbs and be okay for none highway. Lower if the road is really bad but I wouldn't go below 10. Just lower the tire enough to get some tire flex but not so much that you go over something and the rim makes contact with the ground. Doing this will also help make the ride a bit more comfortable as well.

That’s an excellent question and Checking with any large distribution centers whether that’s a church or a nonprofit would be a great start. If Samaritans purse is set up somewhere they could probably direct you. Usually fire departments and search and rescue don’t want external help even if you are trained. If you know of people that are in need of a specific area, that’s safe to get to, just running supplies and picking them up from a local church is a huge help as well. Thanks for digging in. Wish I could be more useful to you.
