Hello Ambal Hills, nice to see you interacting with these innocent people. They are the nomadic Gujjar/Bakerwals of Jammu & Kashmir. They do speak Gojri language and because Gojri resembles (to some extent) with the Dogri and Punjabi languages so it becomes easier for them to understand Dogri.
You can find these people all across the pockets of Jammu & Kashmir.
They were on their way to the upper reaches of Dachhin, Marwah, Kishtwar I think when you met them....... right.
