Pamela Moore I'm a Florida native and have never seen snow other than in Christmas movies lol I'm planning a trip up to Boone, NC for the winter season and am honestly freaking out a bit at the idea of driving in this condition. Is it something to honestly fear. We have been advised as to the 4X4 or AWD and even tire chains. This is a WHOLE new uncharted territory to us. Any advice would help.
Ha I used to live in boring Florida in the southern part where Miami is. I finally got out of there and moved to North Carolina, this winter coming ill be looking forward to driving at least an hour from where I live to see the snowy mountains.
Used to go through NC mountains at least 2 times a year! Coming back from families our manchester jumped out to potty & disappeared in deep snow! Funny. We went through Cherokee, etc. on way to my Grandparents.
Im planning a trip for next winter so my kids can see snow for the first time. How do you think a FWD suv would handle in the snow, Im new to all of this as a Floridian and not sure if I will have to rent a 4WD. Love the video.
Yes, a FWD will work fine. As long as you take it slow and leave plenty of room between you and the car in front of you, and give yourself plenty of time to slow down.
I lived on Beech Mountain Road about 4500ft; elev. for twelve years. I loved this. Brought back memories of that beautiful place. I miss it.
What a lovely ride! Nice conversation too :) Thanks
Thanks for the video. Helps my florida customers know what the roads look like up here during winter months

Frances Caraballo I’d be happy to make the move and leave the endless heat and strip malls behind!
Oddly enough, this looks a lot like Canada's country side. I should now, I live there.
Thanks for the ride!

It's beautiful! I live near the bottom of South Carolina and this winter I might make a 5 hour drive just so I can see snow like this! :D
I am from N.C. I live an hour and a half from here and the mountains are beautiful all year round but ever time I go I get motion sickness. Too curvy.
I really miss the mountains of NC! Ohio sucks!
May I use some of your video images for a video I'm creating. I'll credit the video. Thank you in advance for your consideration.
Bill Marion Sure, just be sure to credit me, and send me a link to your video.

Why does this look like Ashe county NC!! Looks like 88 west from Warrensville to Creston.
You’re close! It’s 88 E from Jefferson towards Laurel Springs.
thought you were on the back rod to banner elk
I assume you had it in 4wd all the way up, correct?
Google User Yes, I did.
Oh my..coming up in Dec from Atl..did not consider snow..😳
Was this the record breaking snow for NC or a typical winter there?
Is was a heavy snow overnight (maybe 4 inches) but nowhere near record breaking
